Chapter 1110
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Stella was staring at the fish in the pond when her call connected.
âWhatâs up?â Keeganâs voice came from the other end of the phone. Stella returned to her senses and asked, âWhy is Sevin in our yard?â
Keegan paused and slowly said, âDidnât you say two days ago that the pond in our yard looked empty?
So, I went to Grandmaâs place and stole a random fish.â
Stellaâs face darkened when she heard that. âYou took Sevin just because I mentioned the pond seemed empty? If I were to say the yard looked empty, would you snatch Juno too?â She muttered to herself, frustrated. âGrandmaâs pond is teeming with fish, and Sevin is the biggest. And you expect me to believe it was a random catch?â
âWell, the yard isnât big enough for Juno,â Keegan chuckled.
âStop joking!â Stella said as her eyes widened. âNo wonder Grandma called me and told me she couldnât find Sevin. She mustâve known that you stole it! Maybe she thought I was your accomplice and called to test me! I told her I would ask you, and it turns out the fish is here! How do you expect me to tell her that her wonderful grandson stole her baby?â
Keegan stayed silent. âStella is smart, but⦠Grandma wasnât calling to know if Sevin was at my place.
She clearly called to know if Stella was there. There was no way Grandma didnât know when Aldor went over to get the fish. I bet Aldor mentioned something that made her call and confirm. Stella was so busy trying to keep our relationship a secret that she didnât realize how obvious she was acting. Once Grandma told her Sevin was missing, she immediately thought of calling me.â
Stella did not know that she had unintentionally revealed her relationship with Keegan. Looking at the huge koi in the pond, she felt stressed out. âHurry up and get someone to send Sevin back. Grandma is worried sick.â
âIâll return the fish in a couple of days. Itâs just starting to get used to its new environment. We shouldnât take it out yet.â
tell Grandma?â
âJust tell her that Sevin drank a witchâs potion, grew a pair of legs, and ran away.â
Stellaâs eyelids twitched at Keeganâs answer. âAnd it fell in love with a prince, got its heart broken, and disappeared into the water, right?â
âI donât think it wouldâve fallen in love with a prince. Sevinâs a male koi. It probably turned back into a fish after the rain and was picked up by some random person and cooked into a fish stew,â Keegan said in a serious tone. âWhat do you think a 30-pound koi taste like?â
Stella was baffled by his response. âKeegan, come on.â
The man chuckled and stopped teasing her. âAlright, alright.I have some work to do. Iâll call you later.â
After hanging up the phone, Stella called Cordelia. The woman was relieved to hear that Sevin was at her grandsonâs place. âIs Sevin adapting to the new place? He has lived his whole life here with me. I hope heâs doing well. Can you send me a few pictures of him?â
Stella was about to say âyesâ when she realized that it would mean she was at Keeganâs house. So, she said, âMaybe Keegan can do it, Grandma. Iâm home right now, and I canât go visit Sevin.â
âHe canât. I deleted him from my contacts,â said Cordelia.
Stella was confused.
âI showed Keegan my new perm, and he sent me a picture of a clown, saying my hair looked like the wig. Ugh, that punk!â Cordelia complained.
Suddenly, Stella recalled the time when she got a perm during New Yearâs. She was excited to show Keegan her new hairstyle, but the man said, âI didnât know this century- old hairstyle is back in trend.â
