“Have you considered what we discussed last time?” Albert asked.

“Huh? What do you mean?” Stella pretended not to understand.

“You know, about me taking you in as an adoptive daughter. These bullying incidents are happening because you have no one on your side. I mean, have you ever experienced anything like this when you were a part of the Jewell family?”

‘How dare he say that?! I wasn’t bullied in the past because people were afraid of Keegan and the Kane family.’ Contrary to Albert’s belief, Stella was miserable in the Jewell family.’ He’s literally so full of himself!’

Resisting the urge to fight back, Stella poked Keegan, asking how to reply. Keegan then mouthed the words, “Say yes.”

Stella understood him. She pursed her lips and said, “You and Hylda are getting married soon. Let’s talk about this later. It’s not up to you alone to decide.”

Albert heard her loosening up to the idea and immediately said, “Of course it is. Don’t worry. As long as you agree, I will immediately declare it to the public and hold a proper ceremony.”

Stella said, “I’m afraid Hylda won’t show up if you make this decision alone. I don’t want things to be awkward.”

‘Hmm. It would be difficult to get Hylda’s approval,’ Albert frowned and pondered for a moment. “Then we’ll announce it during the wedding,” he said.

Stella bit her lower lips and said, “I can do that, but… Will Hylda be okay with it?”

“Don’t worry about her. I’m the head of the house. What I say goes.”

“Okay,” Stella slowly said.

Before hanging up, Albert reminded her to bring Keegan to the wedding.

‘So that’s his goal,’ thought Stella. “I don’t know if he’s free to show up, but I’ll try my best to convince him.”

After the call ended, Stella looked up and pinched Keegan’s face. “Albert thinks you’re the God of Wealth. Oh, he just can’t wait to worship you,” she teased.

Keegan pushed her hand away and said, “Stop being so handsy. It makes men less attracted to you.”

Stella was shocked to hear him say that. ‘You mutt! I’m going to get you back for this,’ she thought.

Keegan’s cell phone rang while Stella was going to the restroom. He looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Bella. Keegan glanced in Stella’s direction and walked to the balcony to pick up the call.

When the call connected, Keegan heard Bella’s frantic voice saying, “Mr. Kane, please help me.”

“You’ve got the wrong person. Our contract is over,” Keegan replied in disdain.

“I know, but I really don’t have a way out. I’m going to lose everything if things go on like this. I’ve gone through a lot to get to where I am today. I don’t want to lose what I have right now. You’re the only person who can help me, Mr. Kane. Please. I’ll do whatever you want in return,” Bella sobbed.

Keegan’s voice was grim, “You should have thought of the consequences when you set out to frame her. I warned you long ago to stay away from her, but you didn’t listen.”

Bella was stunned upon hearing that, and a chill ran down her spine instantly. “Y-You… You’re the one who did this…”

“You were getting greedy,” Keegan said coldly.

Bella felt scared and disturbed at the same time. “You’re responsible for what I’ve become, Keegan. I could have lived my life as a small actor, but you had to pull me out of the slumps and show me what it’s truly like to live. How could I ever go back?”
