Felicity was shocked to hear what the ex-boyfriend had to say. ‘Spencer seems to know a lot about Stella’s affairs. He had just returned to the country, yet he knew she and Keegan were divorced. Could he have been secretly keeping tabs on her? I mean, there’s no way he’d get the news so soon, right?*

Felicity wished she could give Vermont a video call at that time so that they could tune into the love triangle drama together.

“I don’t have to explain myself to you,” Stella frowned.

Spencer smiled faintly and said, “I was just asking. But I suppose it’s not him since you’ve always been good at cutting ties.’

Felicity could not believe her ears. ‘Wait. Does that mean Stella dumped him? Oh my god.’

“Are you done? If you are, I’m leaving,” said Stella. She put her plate down and was about to go when Spencer stretched out his hand to stop her. He then grabbed a mango pudding and placed it in her hand, saying, ‘It’s really nice to see you again.’

Without waiting for Stella to respond, Spencer left. She stared at the pudding cup in her hand and decided to put it back. When she looked up, she saw how stunned Felicity was and threatened, “Don’t tell Keegan, or it’s the end of our friendship!”

“Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me,” Felicity swore. After that, she whispered, ‘Were you the one who dumped him?”

“I brought up the idea of breaking up, and he agreed. It was an amicable breakup,” Stella replied.

“But why did you do that? Isn’t he your type? Plus, he seems to have a much better temper than Keegan.”

Stella sighed. “It’s nothing, really. I just decided we couldn’t be together anymore when he told me his parents were sending him abroad to further his studies.’

“That’s it?” Felicity asked.

“Yeah. He was going to leave the country, and I wasn’t going with him. Though I wished he would stay, I didn’t want him to change his decision because of me. Relationships are hard, especially if you’re doing long distance. We were going to be miles apart when I didn’t even get to know him yet. There was no way we would have lasted. So, I suggested we break up. I didn’t want us to waste each other’s time. Plus, it made more sense to end the relationship since we weren’t really that into each other yet.”

It was true that Stella did initiate the breakup, but Spencer did not agree to it. However, since they were unmarried and not legally bound together, Stella did not have to wait for his consent. After suggesting the idea, she immediately blocked Spencer’s number and all his social media accounts.

Moreover, she had met Spencer’s father before and realized he was not someone she could get along with.

“You’re so heartless. Would you break up with Keegan if he told you he had to leave the country for a few years to expand his business abroad?’ Felicity asked.

Stella shook her head and said, “No because I love him. Plus, I’m an adult now. I can just book a flight and see him anytime I want, no matter where he is.”

“So you’re saying you didn’t like Spencer that much.”

Stella smiled and did not say anything. She was infatuated with Spencer, but her feelings for him were incomparable to her deep love for Keegan.
