Chapter 1203

Keegan barely paid any attention to Xenia amidst the turmoil. So, he did not notice what Stella was talking about. After contemplating for a brief moment, he reassured Stella by saying, “Don’t worry, we’re almost at the hospital. The doctors will conduct a thorough examination.”

Stella could only suppress her concerns and hoped that nothing would go wrong.

Soon, they arrived at the hospital. Albert instructed the medical staff to take Xenia to the gynecology department, prioritizing his son’s safety. He did not care what other people thought of him as long as one of his sons could be saved. As per his request, Hylda and Xenia were taken to operating rooms on different floors. Since Albert was Hylda’s husband, he had to wait outside her surgery room patiently despite being worried about his mistress.

When Xenia arrived at the hospital, she could not stop vomiting. The doctors struggled to determine the cause of her symptoms, but they discovered that she was having vaginal bleeding.

Stella and the others were puzzled by the situation. “But, she’s not pregnant. Why is she bleeding?”

Stella asked the doctor.

“Did she eat anything bad?” the doctor inquired.

“I’m not too sure. Is it food poisoning, doc?”

The doctor pursed her lips and said, “Food poisoning doesn’t cause vaginal bleeding. She’s also suffering from abdominal pain and vomiting. I suspect that she may have taken drugs like mifepristone and misoprostol.’

Stella was stunned. “What kind of drugs are those?”

“They’re taken after one gets a medical abortion. I had a patient who had similar symptoms. We’ve drawn some of Ms. Garcia’s blood and collected a sample of her puke to conduct further testing. We’ll be able to confirm the cause of her problem soon,” the doctor explained.

Stella nodded as her mind raced. She could not help but think of Hylda at that moment. ‘Did she somehow administer those drugs to Xenia as an extra precaution? Was pushing her off the railing not enough?’ Stella shivered at the thought of that.

Keegan noticed that Stella was anxious and asked the doctor, “Are there any side effects to taking those drugs if one isn’t pregnant?”

“It’s definitely not a good idea to take medication you don’t need, but there’s no need to worry. She should be fine once her hormone levels return to normal.”

“Alright. Thank you, doctor,” Keegan replied. He then grabbed Stella’s hand and said, “Don’t worry.

Xenia will be okay. We can hire a private doctor to look after her if you want.”

Stella gave him a nod and said, “I just thought of something.”

“What is it?” Keegan asked.

“Remember when I told you that my mom wanted another child?”

Keegan nodded and recalled the past conversation. Since Stella was not Rainee’s biological daughter, it was not unusual for her to want another child of her own. “Yeah. I remember you said that she could not conceive because of health issues.”

“That’s what I thought, but today’s incident made me consider another possibility,” Stella continued.
