Chapter 1205
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Hyldaâs body stiffened, and she subconsciously gripped the bedsheets tightly. Unaware of her being tense, Albert turned away, as he was still reeling from the loss of his son. He had no interest in watching the surveillance footage and politely declined Oliviaâs offer. âThatâs alright, Mrs. Chapman.
Thank you for coming, and sorry for the trouble.â
Olivia smiled reassuringly and said, âItâs no trouble at all, Mr. Jewell. I just want to make sure that everything is clear so there are no future complications for my business. Itâs better to address these matters directly than to deal with misunderstandings later. Do contact me if you need anything, Mr.
Jewell.â
Albert, being a businessman himself, understood Oliviaâs perspective and did not doubt her intentions.
On the other hand, Hylda glared at Olivia angrily, as she was unhappy about her interference.
Sophia furrowed her brow and said, âI think this is the wrong time to discuss this, Mrs. Chapman. My mom just had a miscarriage and is still recovering.â
Surprised by the news of Hyldaâs miscarriage, Olivia exclaimed, âOh my! Iâm sorry to hearthat.â
Sophia expected her to leave after expressing her concern. But, to Sophiaâs dismay, Olivia continued, âThen, thatâs all the more reason to investigate and clarify what happened. We cannot let this incident go unaddressed.â
Sophia was at a loss for words. âIs Mrs. Chapman intentionally stirring up trouble?â
Upon hearing that, Albert felt an overwhelming anger welling up, as he recalled that he had lost a son.
He was determined to find out who harmed his child. âThank you, Mrs. Chapman,â he said.
âItâs no problem. I want to clear my name as well,â replied Olivia as she pulled out her phone and played the surveillance video.
Hylda clenched her fists, thinking that there was no point in trying to keep things a secret any longer.
âWhatâs the worst that could happen? The baby in that bitchâs belly isnât going to survive anyway.â
After a few minutes, Albert roared, âIt was you!â
Sophiaâs heart trembled, and she cursed Olivia in her heart. Ian, on the other hand, remained silent with a tense expression.
Meanwhile, Hylda was composed. She looked up and responded in a cold tone, âShe was the one who started making disrespectful remarks to me! Who does she think she is? Who gave her the audacity to provoke me on my wedding day?â
As she said that, she looked at Albert with tears in her eyes and continued, âYou promised me that you would handle this situation, but look at what happened. You impregnated her and allowed her to ruin our wedding!â
Albert had a lot on his mind but was momentarily speechless after being exposed by Hylda. He had assured her that he would deal with Xenia if she promised to keep the child. He even offered her a small share of his business to pacify her. Hylda had agreed to the deal and appeared unaware of Xeniaâs impending visit. âDid Xenia deliberately show up to provoke Hylda?1 Albert thought.
Olivia glanced at Albert, who was thrown off by Hyldaâs words. Then, she calmly stated, âYou could have simply dismissed the girl if you didnt want her there, Mrs. Jewell. There was no need to resort to violence. Given your condition, werenât you concerned about harming the child in your womb?â
She was trying to imply that Hylda did not really care for the baby since she engaged in a physical altercation over a few taunts from someone else.
Albert might not be the brightest person in the room, but when it came to matters concerning his child, he was extremely quick-witted. Oliviaâs words instantly reminded him of Hyldaâs previous attempt to abort the child behind his back.
âHylda did not want this child since the beginning. She didnât even seem as excited about giving birth.
When she was pregnant with Hugo, she panicked and contemplated calling the ambulance after a minor fall in the bathroom. This time, however, her immediate reaction was to blame Xenia for pushing her over the railingâ¦â
Albertâs lips tightened as he locked eyes with Hylda, and his anger intensified. Hylda felt a sudden wave of panic and said, âWhat are you insinuating, Mrs. Chapman? Are you saying that I purposely got rid of my own child and framed that woman for it?â
