“Of course not. I was just thinking out loud, Mrs. Jewell,” said Olivia.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. It was Keegan and the rest.

“Mr. Jewell, Ms. Garcia needs some papers signed to keep the baby. Could you help contact her family?” Keegan said.

Albert was taken aback, but Hylda was the first to react. “She didn’t lose the baby? How is that possible?!”

Albert was so immersed in the joy of his son being alive that he did not pay much attention to what Hylda had said. However, the others present heard it word for word.

Stella looked at Hylda and raised an eyebrow. “Why do you sound awfully certain that Ms. Garcia would have a miscarriage, Mrs. Jewell?”

Realizing that she slipped up, Hylda quickly tried to regain her composure.” Well, I lost my baby. Is it wrong to think that she would’ve lost hers too when we both fell off the gazebo?”

Sophia was offended by the group’s sudden intrusion, specifically Stella’s. So, she frowned and said, “Why are you here, Stella?”

Stella shrugged and smirked. “I’m here to watch the show. It’s funny how your mom was the other woman, and now she’s the one who’s being cheated on.’

Keegan’s expression darkened. He grabbed an empty IV bottle from the table and threw it toward Sophia. The bottle shattered in front of her feet, and shards of glass flew across the room.

Sophia was still in shock when Keegan’s cold voice sounded in her ears.” Remember who you’re talking to.”

Ethan, who had just returned from downstairs, witnessed the situation and quickly stepped forward to shield Sophia. “Don’t you think your behavior is a little inappropriate, Mr. Kane?”

Keegan glanced at Ethan coldly and said, “And, who are you to say that to me?”

‘Who cares if he’s acting insane right now? He’s protecting Stella, and that’s what matters,’ Felicity puffed her cheeks and thought. ‘No wonder Stella is infatuated with him. I’d probably fall in love with someone if they defended me like that too.1 Meanwhile, Vermont was holding back his laughter. ‘I can’t believe Keegan did that. I guess Stella must’ve rubbed off on him. The only other person who would’ve done that is Marshall,’ he thought.

Marshall was the type to treat everyone with kindness. Keegan, on the other hand, was indifferent to social status or beauty. He treated everyone equally. Even though getting along with someone like that was not easy, Keegan would not purposely embarrass people in front of others. Ethan was just unlucky to have bumped into Keegan that day. Normally, Keegan would not even bat an eye at him.

Ethan did not look pleased. He seemed as though he was ready to burst into anger, but Albert quickly intervened. “What did the doctor say, Keegan? Is the child okay?”
