Chapter 1254
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Hylda replied coldly, âWhat do you think? You were supposed to look after Hugo, yet you managed to lose him as soon as I sent him to you!â
Lydia defended herself. âIt wasnât entirely my fault. It was dark, and Hugo ran out on his own. There are so many children in the kindergarten. How am I supposed to keep an eye on everyone?â
In fact, Lydia was not feeling guilty at all.
Albert invited all the prominent figures of Rivera to his second wedding. Lydia wanted to attend and take this opportunity to expand her social circle. She wanted to know more people of higher social status so that her son would have better opportunities in the future.
However, Hylda did not allow her to be there and made it clear that she did not want any of Albertâs âpoor relativesâ to attend her wedding.
Although Rainee did not like them too, she still invited them to her wedding. So, the fact that Hylda was not even bothered to hide that she hated them made Lydia furious.
Lydia thought to herself. âNot only that she didnât allow us to attend her wedding, she wanted us to take care of her child. She should be grateful that I didnât refuse to help.â
Hylda did not want to argue with her. She was very disgusted by a scheming bumpkin like Lydia. So, she asked coldly, âWhy did you call?â
Lydia finally got to the point. âStella, that illegitimate child, hired a lawyer to sue us. She claims that we occupy the Spade familyâs land and demands us to move.â
Hylda was taken aback as her expression immediately darkened. âSheâs onto us already?â
âThe lawyer she appointed sent us a letter demanding we move out in three days, or theyâll sue us for property infringement. Hylda, I invested more than a million in this kindergarten back then. Youâve got to reimburse me if we really must move out because you were the one who said there wouldnât be any problems. You should bear the responsibility now that sheâs coming after us.â
Hylda got so angry that her eyes twitched.
What a dumbass! I canât believe that sheâs trying to put all the blame on me instead of trying to solve the problem!â
Hylda took a deep breath and suppressed her anger. Then, she said in a deep voice, âWhatâs the point of saying something like this now? Youâre aware that I invested more money than you did, right? Have I ever paid you less than you deserve? How could you think of running away just because of an issue?
Even if I reimburse you now, the kindergarten is still registered under your name. Do you think you can stay out of this?â
Lydiaâs face turned red. âYouâre the one who suggested it!â
Hylda replied flatly, âDidnât you make money out of it? Could you ever have bought a house in the city center of Rivera if it werenât for me? Do you think your son couldâve found a decent girlfriend?â
Lydiaâs expression turned awful. She despised hearing that condescending tone from Hylda as if she owed her life to her!
âWhat should we do now, then? Are we just going to sit here and get sued?â
Hylda sat up. âYeah, why not? Our kindergarten is huge and has so many students. Do you think we can move out just because she demanded us to? The parents and authorities will never agree to this!
Besides, we have the title deed. Why are you so afraid of her?â
Although Hylda was right, the thought of going to court terrified Lydia. She had never set foot in a courtroom and always had a bad feeling about that place.
âShould we hire a lawyer, then?â Lydia asked.
Hylda pondered momentarily before saying, âYou donât have to do anything now. Just continue running the kindergarten as usual. Letâs see what theyâll do after three days, and weâll come up with a plan by then.â
Lydia had no idea what else to do, so she listened to Hylda.
Hylda hung up the phone, and her face immediately darkened.
She just got kicked out of the Jewell residence, and now Stella was demanding the kindergarten she invested in move out. Albert terminated all her bank cards, and the kindergarten was her only source of income. âWhat a bitch Stella is. Sheâs trying to ruin my life!â
