Chapter 1277
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
âI want to inquire about the best day for Xenia to get the C- section according to Godâs plan,â said Albert.
Stella was at a loss for words. âWhen did Albert become so godly? Where was this behavior when he decided to hurt her wife of twenty years?â she thought as her face tightened with displeasure.
Keegan grabbed her hand and gently rubbed his thumb over it, trying to soothe her. âIâm not sure. Iâll have to ask,â he answered Albert indifferently.
He paused briefly before adding, âMr. Jewell, while I may not be a spiritual person, I find tampering with destiny and manipulating life events through artificial means to be violating divine favor. Instead of seeking spiritual guidance, perhaps doing good deeds to create more blessings for the child might be more beneficial.â
Albertâs expression momentarily stiffened upon hearing that. He contemplated about it and said, âThat makes sense.â He then reminded Keegan to get the venerableâs number and hung up.
After the call ended, Stella could not help but mutter, âThat man has gone mad!â
Keegan, on the other hand, said, âItâs not entirely a surprise. The more bad deeds someone does, the more they fear that their wrongdoings will affect their child. He encountered numerous difficulties after our divorce. Itâs typical of him to want to turn to religion at this stage of life.â
Before Stella could respond, her phone rang. Keegan glanced at the screen and saw that it was Marshall. Stella froze and asked if she should answer, to which Keegan responded, âSure. Hold onto this cross while you speak to him since you said he brings negative energy.â
Stella did not say anything. She picked up the call, and Marshallâs voice sounded from the other end of the line.â Stella, itâs me.â
âMr. Moore, howâs your injury?â
Marshall chuckled softly and warmly replied, âItâs nothing too serious, dragging you into that dangerous situation.â
âThereâs nothing to be sorry about. Weâre friends, and friends help each other out,â said Stella.
âAre you home? Iâve arrived at Clouditude International.â
âY-youâre here?â Stella asked. As soon as she uttered those words, she felt Keeganâs intense gaze on her. âWhat was with the look? Itâs not like I invited him over!â she thought.
âYeah, I brought some gifts. I wanted to check on you and Ms. Thompson. Things might have turned out differently if it werenât for you two that day,â Marshall responded.
âThatâs very kind of you,â said Stella. âHeâs not here just for me, so I canât say no on Felicityâs behalf.â
âAlso, thereâs something Iâd like to discuss with you concerning Ms. Spadeâs car accident,â Marshall continued.
Keegan paused when he heard that. Stella raised an eyebrow as she asked in a low voice, âDid you find something?â
âIâll talk to you when I come up. Iâm waiting for the elevator.â
Stella turned to Keegan, who was shirtless, and said, âTake your time. I need to clean up a bit.â
Marshall chuckled softly and replied, âSure thing.â
Stella then pulled Keegan up and said, âCome on. Move it. Go to Vermontâs place. You can go to work when Marshall comes.
