Chapter 1309
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Trevor kept quiet.
The way that Keegan called him âBroâ sounded too darn natural, and that gave him goosebumps.
He stared at Keegan sternly for a few seconds before squinting. He said, âHow come Iâve never realized you can be so shameless?â
Keegan replied calmly. âThatâs because you went abroad too soon, and we didnât get to spend much time together. Itâs not too late for us to get to know each other better now.â
Trevor gazed at him and sneered. âDo you think everything is good now just because Stella accepted you?â
âOf course not. I still need your approval, brother. Stella cares very much about your opinion,â Keegan responded humbly.
His response left Trevor speechless.
âYouâre pretty confident about yourself. What if I donât think that youâre good enough for her?â
Keegan lifted his gaze and replied, âThen Iâll have no other choice.â
Trevor was puzzled. Then, Keegan took his phone out and video-called someone.
After a few seconds, someone answered the call, and a woman appeared on the screen.
âKeegan, why is it so dark over there?â
âItâs bright over here,â Keegan replied.
He handed his phone to Trevor as he spoke, and Trevor saw the woman on screen. Trevor paused for a moment as he pursed his lips tightly, unable to speak.
The woman was a little surprised too. It took her a moment before she spoke. âTrevor, itâs you.â
Trevor clenched his jaw and responded softly, âYeah.â
Stella received Keeganâs call and came downstairs. Keegan told her on the phone that he was waiting for her in Trevorâs car.
Stella was pretty shocked to hear that. She was initially worried that Trevor would not allow him to get in his car, but Keegan pulled through.
Vermont and Felicity followed her.
After all, Mr. Snyder would never miss a chance to catch a free ride.
So, Trevor, who specifically came to pick his sister up, found his car filled with other people, leaving his face visibly displeased.
Stella sat behind Keegan while Felicity sat in between her and Vermont. She could see Trevorâs tense jaw from where she was sitting. She secretly poked Keeganâs neck from the back, and he turned around.
Stella shot a glance at Trevor as if she was asking Keegan with her eyes, âWhatâs wrong with my brother?â
Keegan turned to Trevor and said, âTake the East Light Road. The traffic is bad here.â
Trevor gazed coldly at him. âKeep your mouth shut if youâre not driving. No one asked for your opinion.
Do you want to take over the wheels?â
Stella kept quiet.
I canât believe that Trevor let Keegan in the car despite how grumpy he is. I never knew he could be so generous.â Stella thought to herself.
Keegan was not bothered by what Trevor said at all as he voluntarily offered, âSure, Iâll do that then.
After all, the driverâs unstable mood might affect the safety of everyone in this car.â
Trevor desperately wanted to take off the steering wheel and smash it onto Keeganâs skull. He was extremely annoyed by him.
Trevor did not feel like arguing with Keegan, so he pulled over and unfastened his seat belt. âCome on, show us how good your driving skills are.â
Keegan did not hurry to get out of the car. Instead, he turned around and said to Stella, âStella, would you sit beside me? I need you to navigate.â
Stella was caught off guard.
She looked at Trevorâs gloomy face and suddenly realized that Keegan probably did not need her to navigate. Instead, he was worried that Trevor would trick him into leaving the car and drive away without him. So, he had to come up with an excuse to make Stella step out of the car, too, using her as a hostage to keep Trevor in check.
âSure,â Stella responded as she opened the car door. She felt so guilty that she could not bring herself to look at Trevor at all.
After a moment, Keegan sat in the driverâs seat with Stella next to him. Felicity sat between Vermont and Trevor, who had a disgruntled expression. For some reason, she felt immensely pressured.
âStellaâs brother looks really angryâ¦â
