Chapter 137
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Stella wanted him to widely advertise the sale and let every person in the upper-class society know about it.
Henry was a person that cared about what other people would think of him very much. He would never want them to laugh at him for returning the bangle.
âThis is unbelievable. Stellaâs plan is just perfect. Albert would stop pestering her if Henry gave up the idea of returning the bangle himself. Even Iâve never done such an evil thing before!â
After not hearing any response from Vermont, Stella asked tentatively, âWhat do you think?â
âStella, did you major in public relations?â
Stella did not know what to say.
âI was in the theater department.â
Vermont licked his lips. âIn my opinion, you shouldâve ventured into public relations. I would spend a fortune just to hire you.â
Stella took it as a joke. âSo, whatâs your thought on this?â
âItâs wonderful. The manager talked to me about the marketing campaign a few days ago, and I think this is a very good opportunity to promote my shop. Iâll get it done now.â Stella sighed in relief.
âThanks.â
Then, Vermont said playfully, âI should be the one thanking you. I wouldnât know how much longer I have to keep that bangle in my store if it werenât for you.â
Vermont gave a call to Keegan right after he hung up.
He had no choice. Their love life was just so much more interesting than work.
Keegan saw Vermontâs call as soon as he left the hospital.
He declined it without hesitating because he was still mad about what had happened not long ago.
There was no way that Vermont would give up, so he called Aldor instead.
Aldor had no choice but to pass his phone to Keegan.
Keegan grabbed the phone with an angry face. âThis better be something important!â
âYour wife called me.â
Keegan paused.
âWhat did you say?â
Vermont smirked. âI said that Stella called me just now.â
Keeganâs nose hurt again when he heard Stellaâs name. It reminded him of that check as he said angrily, âWhy would you tell me that?â
âDonât you want to know why she called me?â
âNo!â
Keegan was about to hang up.
Then, Vermont immediately said, âHenry wants to return the bangle, and she asked me for a favor!â
Keegan paused. âShe did?â
âYeah. She told me her father threatened her to return the bangle no matter what while crying her heart out. I can never bear to see a woman acting like this, so my heart went soft and agreed to help.â
Keegan looked indifferent. âGet lost if youâre done with your story!â
âTsk.â Vermont clicked his tongue. âWhy wouldnât you believe in such an emotional story?â
Keegan believed Vermont when he said that Stella asked for his help, but not the part when he said that Stella cried her heart out.
âThat womanâs heart is made of stone. She would never cry in front of an outsider like Vermont to complain about her family problems.â
