Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted Chapter 1621 [Eleven Jewell]
Keeganâs wounds tore open, leaving him pale and in silent agony. He scoffed, âDid you bother to find out about us before making your move? Sheâs my ex wife. Do you really think a woman would show up for an ex-husband who treated her poorly?â
This seemed to strike a nerve with the kidnapper. He growled, âYou divorced her just to fool around with my wife, didnât you? And then, you conspired with her to divorce me!â
Keegan was puzzled by his accusation. âI have no idea what youâre talking about. I donât know your wife.â
âCut the act!â the abusive man raged. âAs soon as she saw you, she wanted a divorce! You even helped her with the lawsuit. How could you!â
The slap was brutal. Keeganâs ears were ringing, but the manâs words made Keegan realize that what Stella had said might be true-the kidnappers had mistaken him for Marshall.
The abusive man grabbed Keeganâs neck and continued,â My wife left me, my son is gone, and my parents were forced to quit their jobs by the company. My family is torn apart because of you. I wonât let you two off so easily!â
He laughed maniacally. âItâs fine if she doesnât come out. Iâll deal with you first and then find her later. Thereâs no one in this twenty-mile radius to help her. She couldnât have gone far.â
The man was about to shove Keegan off the bridge when Stellaâs voice echoed not far away. âStop! Youâre looking for me, right? So, stop hurting him. Iâm coming out.â
Keeganâs heart skipped a beat. The thing he was worried about was happening right before his eyes.
Stella could have stayed hidden. However, she was afraid of what would have happened if she did not try to stop the man. Additionally, Keegan did not know how to swim. Even if he did, his clothes would weigh him down in the freezing water. The chances of him swimming to safety were low.
Stella simply could not afford to make that gamble.
As soon as Stella appeared, the perpetrator perked up. âTrue love prevails in times of trouble. How heartwarming,â he stated sarcastically. The man then pressed down on Keeganâs shoulder, and Keegan could not help but grunt.
Stellaâs heart tightened. She clenched her fists and said,â You got the wrong person. He didnât help your wife with the divorce. Heâs not even a lawyer. He doesnât even know how to represent someone in a lawsuit.â
âDo you think Iâm stupid?â the abusive man sneered.
âItâs the truth!â Stella urged. âTake a good look at the person youâre holding. You were in close quarters with the lawyer when you fought him. I bet you know what he looks like.
They look completely different. How could you mistake one for the other?â
The man hesitated before examining Keeganâs face once more. The man could hardly tell him and Marshall apart. He tried to view Keegan from another angle, but the figure seemed identical to the person in his memory.
âItâs a perfect match if he was dressed in a white suit. That woman must be lying!â
âAre you trying to deceive me and make a run for it?â he sneered.
âYouâve come across that lawyer face to face. How could I possibly trick you?â
Stellaâs voice trembled. She was afraid that the lunatic would lose his grip and drop Keegan into the waters. Even though she was terrified, she kept her tone as soft as possible.
âThe man youâre holding works at the Vinci Rivera Group. You can find his picture on their website. Meanwhile, the lawyer who helped your wife with the lawsuit works at Sterling Legal Solutions. Thereâs a picture of him on their site as well. You can search them up on your phone to compare them. Just one look and youâll realize youâve mistaken the two!â
A flicker of doubt crossed the manâs face. He stared at Stella with a tense expression and said, âIf what youâre saying is true, I want you to call that lawyer and ask him to come over.â
Stella tightened her fists and said, âWill you release him if I give the lawyer a call?â
âDonât do it!â Keegan shouted.
The man drew a knife and pressed it against Keeganâs neck. âWell, I wonât kill him right away.â
Stella had no negotiating power in this situation. So, she could only do her best to stall.
âGive me your phone, and Iâll make the call.â
The man did not trust her. âTell me his number, and Iâll do the dialing. You can just stand there and speak. And donât even think about trying anything funny.â
