Chapter 1726
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Dahlia was irritated and pushed Coco away, âGet off, you wild child!â
The shove sent Coco tumbling to the ground, hitting her forehead on the corner of a flowerbed, leaving a bruise.
The little girl, now in pain, immediately burst into tears.
Cordelia was enjoying a stroll in the garden when she heard the commotion.
She instructed Baldwin to wheel her over. Upon arrival, they witnessed Aldor comforting Coco, who was weeping. It was a sad sight.
âWhat happened?â Cordelia frowned and inquired.
âGreat grandma!â Coco called out, her eyes red. She then hugged Aldorâs leg, sobbing quietly.
Dahliaâs expression changed when she saw Cordelia. She did not expect her to show up. However, she quickly composed herself and said, âCoco tripped and fell. So, she cried and wanted Aldor to comfort her. Why are you out here, Mom?â
Aldor did not expose Dahlia as he was still comforting Coco.
Cordelia glanced at her daughter-in-law and uttered in disdain, âI came out for some fresh air.â She then looked at Aldor and asked, âAldor, have you settled all the adoption procedures?â
Aldor nodded, âOnce the documents are confirmed, we can complete the process.â
As he raised his head, Cordelia noticed the handprint on Aldorâs face. She furrowed her brows and asked, âAldor, what happened to your face?â
âItâs nothing. I accidentally hit myself when I was getting out of the car,â Aldor replied.
Just as he spoke, Coco exclaimed, âNo, Uncle Aldor was hit by the old witch!â
Cordelia raised an eyebrow, âWhoâs the old witch?â
Coco pointed at Dahlia and said, âHer! Great grandma, she hit Uncle Aldor and called him a dog!â
âWhat nonsense are you talking about?!â Dahlia broke into a cold sweat and hastily explained, âDonât listen to her nonsense, Mom. We just had a little argument, and she thought I was bullying Aldor.â
Coco insisted, âIâm not lying, Great grandma. She called Uncle Aldorâ¦â
Coco had an excellent memory. She repeated what Dahlia had said earlier, mimicking Dahliaâs tone and demeanor perfectly.
Having shared a thirty-year connection with Dahlia, Cordelia was aware of Dahliaâs true nature.
After listening to Cocoâs retelling of the situation, Cordelia remained silent. She raised her hand and beckoned her over. Sniffling, she walked to Cordeliaâs wheelchair.
Be good. Uncle Baldwin will take you to wash your face while I talk to Uncle Aldor.â
Coco nodded and was led away by Baldwin.
Dahlia felt uneasy, afraid that Cordelia might trust Coco over her. She hesitantly said, âMomâ¦â
Cordelia lifted her arm, âHelp me up.â
Thinking that Cordelia would defend her, Dahlia hurried over to assist her.
However, as soon as she reached out her hand, Cordelia slapped her across the face. 1
