Chapter 1733
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Keeganâs leg wasnât seriously injured; it was just weakened from prolonged immobility. His recovery had been swift over the past few days with proper nutrition and rehabilitation training.
Although his body had improved significantly, Jaylene noticed that Keegan had become less talkative.
When she initiated conversations, he would respond with minimal enthusiasm, appearing disinterested.
This change in demeanor left Jaylene somewhat uneasy. Seeking to lighten the mood, she decided to bring up Stella.
âStella hasnât been home these past few days, and it feels quite empty. Despite her hating me for saving you, I actually like having a sister at home.â i Keegan did not react when he heard Stellaâs name.
Jaylene continued, âDad mentioned that she went out with her friend to unwind. She has quite a number of friends. Last time, she went out with Marshall. This time, Iâm not sure.â i Keegan seemed unfazed and said, âJaylene, Grandma suggested I formally express my gratitude, considering my leg has recovered almost entirely. Could you check if your dad is available this weekend? I want to visit your home to explain how you saved me, so Grandma wonât trouble you anymore.â
Jaylene was pleasantly surprised. âSure, Iâll ask Dad when I get home.â
Keegan nodded and checked the time. âYou should go. Iâll have the driver send you home. I need some rest.âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Although Jaylene felt reluctant to leave, she couldnât justify staying at the hospital indefinitely with Keeganâs improving health. 2 After Jaylene left, Keegan didnât immediately rest. Instead, he visited Cocoâs room. The little girl was busy drawing when she heard the door open. She glanced over and returned to her creation when she saw it was Keegan.
âArenât you going to greet me?â Keegan casually remarked.
âHello, Uncle Keegan,â Coco replied nonchalantly.
Keegan took a seat beside her. âEvery time Jaylene comes, you hide in your room. Canât you at least say hi?â
âI donât want to.â
âWhy not?â
Coco pouted. âI donât like her.â 3 Keegan chuckled and asked, âThen who do you like?â
âI like Aunt Stella.â 2 Keegan froze for a moment and said, âYou like her, but she might not like you back. Look, she doesnât even come to see you.â
Coco stared at him. âIsnât that because youâre getting along with Jaylene?â 1 Keegan was at a loss for words. âIâm not getting along with her.â
âThen why are you with her all the time?â
âI canât exactly send her away when she comes, can I? Itâs common courtesy,â explained Keegan. 1 Coco retorted, âBut you chased Aunt Stella away. I heard what Great-Grandma said to you!â
Keegan paused and tapped Coco on the forehead. âItâs impolite to eavesdrop,â he said.
âIâm just a kid. People will forgive me for eavesdropping,â Coco replied.
Her response left Keegan speechless.
âI wont turn her away if she truly wishes to come.â
