Chapter 1760
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Felicity was impressed by how quick-witted and smooth Vermont was.
Keegan licked his lips, âWell⦠if you donât want a divorce, we donât have to do it.â
Stella said coldly, âHow generous of you.â
Keegan kept quiet. He felt extremely puzzled about why he would marry someone with such a sharp tongue.
The ward door swung open again when he was about to say something.
âStella! Stella!â
Cordelia walked in hurriedly, looking anxious. When she saw that Stella was still wearing her patient pants, she put her hand on her chest, âDid I come too late? Is my precious great -grandchild already gone?â
She looked like she was about to faint as she spoke.
Vermont, standing next to her, immediately supported her,â No, no. The baby is still here.â
Cordelia immediately felt relieved, âReally?â
Vermont nodded, âFor now, yeah. The parents are still discussing its fate.â
Cordelia felt like fainting again upon hearing that.
Keegan then walked over, asking, âGrandma, what brought you here?â
Cordeliaâs hand was still across her chest when she said irritably, âI should be the one asking you that question. Why did you bring Stella here?â
Keegan was confused, âI didnât. I came to find her.â
âWhat do you mean? Are you saying that Stella decided to abort my great-grandchild?â
Cordelia was frustrated, âShe has been looking forward to having a child for so long. Now that sheâs finally pregnant, how could she abort it? You mustâve been the one who brought her here. After you lose your memory and canât recognize her, you want to break off the engagement. Now, you donât even want your baby with her. How can you be so irresponsible?â
Keegan felt extremely wronged. He had come to stop Stella, yet to his grandmother, he was the one who forced Stella to have an abortion.
âGrandma, itâs not like that. I just found out about it and came to stop her. If you donât believe me, ask Stella.â
After saying that, Keegan looked at Stella, hoping she would explain. However, Stellaâs eyes reddened, âGrandma, youâre finally here. If you were to come later, I⦠Iâ¦â
Then, she started crying.
Keegan was puzzled, âTell her the truth. Why are you crying?â
Cordelia was furious. She lifted her cane and hit Keegan with it, âYou liar! What would you have done if I didnât come today?â
Although his injuries had recovered, being hit still hurt. He could only dodge while explaining, âGrandma, donât listen to her nonsense. Sheâs the one lying-Ouch-â
Cordelia chased Keegan around the hospital room to hit him. Felicityâs jaw dropped in shock.
âEven someone as imposing as Keegan could look like a drowned rat.â Felicity thought to herself.
Cordelia was getting older; she ran out of breath after a while. She leaned on her cane, panted, and pointed at Keegan, âIâll deal with you later when we go home!â
Then, she walked over to Stella and held her hand, âChild, Iâm sorry for what you had to go through. Iâll teach that hopeless thing a lesson for you.â
Stella hugged Cordelia and thanked her. Then, she turned to Keegan and stuck her tongue out at him, making a funny face.
Keegan rubbed his sore back from getting hit earlier and could not help but laugh. Just when he was still feeling guilty, Stella turned the situation around. 1 After being labeled as violent, Stella further solidified her reputation as cunning and crafty in Keeganâs eyes.
