“You’re really testing my patience,” Felicity grumbled, tugging at Vermont’s hair.

“Why does drama always follow you in your love life?!”

Vermont let out a sigh. “Who could have guessed they’d pull off such a stunt at their own engagement party? They’re just crazy.”

Giving him a sharp look, Felicity said, “Would they have done it if you weren’t involved with the bride-to-

be?”

Her question left Vermont speechless for a moment. Finally, he responded, “Is it my fault for being too charming?”

“You’re shameless!”

With a chuckle, Vermont bent his head and lightly nudged her face with his chin.

“Sweetheart, I didn’t expect you to have so much trust in me. I was worried you’d believe those troublemakers and leave me.”

Felicity shot him a disdainful look. “That was your first love. Do you think it’s appropriate to call her a scoundrel?”

“First love my foot,” Vermont gritted his teeth at the memory. “We dated for a semester in high school.

She ran off with someone else when I interned at the company during summer vacation. I didn’t know she was the bride-to- be until I arrived at the party. Those two sure are something.”

“Why did she even do that?” Felicity asked.

Vermont opened the car door for Felicity and went to the driver’s seat.

He picked up his phone and glanced at what his assistant had sent. “The groom-to-be must have played a part in in. That scumbag hooked up with a model I used to date.”

It turns out the one Xander in love with was actually another Vermont’s exes.

She used to be an artist in Felicity’s former company.

She took advantage of Vermont’s support and terminated her contract with the company, incurring a heavy breach-of- contract fee.

Vermont broke up with her after that. Since then, her resources decreased, and her popularity declined.

Hence, she harbored a deep resentment toward Vermont.

Later, the model met Xander, and they fell madly in love.

Unfortunately, due to her previous tumultuous relationship with Vermont, Xander’s family disapproved of her.

So, Xander devised a plan to make a scene on his engagement day. He had Vermont’s first love to play the role as his bride-to-be and intended to catch her in the act of ” infidelity”, turning it into a massive scandal.

The wedding would undoubtedly be called off, allowing him to present that his real lover as someone good and secure his parents’ approval.

At the same time, he would be helping his lover get back at Vermont.

Vermont adjusted his tie and cursed, “I wondered why he would bug me to attend his engagement banquet when we’re not that close. I wouldn’t have shown up if it weren’t for the fact that he hired a good chef, and I wanted you to taste the food. His old man literally bows to me whenever he sees me. Who does he think he is?”

Felicity watched as Vermont complained and couldn’t hold back her laughter.

“All this happened because you’re too popular among women. Both his lover and ex are your ex-

girlfriends. Serves you right for being such a player.”

Vermont laughed upon hearing that. “I genuinely didn’t know that the bride-to-be was someone I knew. If I had known, I wouldn’t have come. Why would I bring you to my ex’s engagement party? I’m not crazy.”

Felicity snorted, “If it weren’t for my quick thinking, you’d be in trouble.

Tomorrow’s headlines would read, ‘CEO of Green Hill Media disrupts engagement: A Love Triangle’.”

Vermont’s eyelid twitched. “Can we create a better learning environment for our baby?” ‘ Felicity glared at him and said, “Shut up!”

Vermont chuckled as he started the car. Just as they were about to leave, Felicity suddenly asked, “Will Jaylene snatch Keegan away in our absence?”
