Chapter 1841
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
âStella, Iâm about to board the plane now. I should arrive around ten tomorrow morning. Iâve checked in some luggage, and youâll see the rest when I get back,â
Trevorâs voice fought against the wind, clearly audible through the phone.
âAlright, have a safe flight. Iâll be there to pick you up tomorrow,â Stella responded warmly.
Trevor hesitated for a moment before calling her name,â Stellaâ¦â
âWhat is it, Trevor?â Stella sensed there was something he wanted to share.
However, after a brief pause, he decided,â Letâs talk about it when Iâm there. Itâs not the best moment for it over the phone.â
âOkay.â
Stella ended the call and tightened her grip on the steering wheel. She anticipated that Trevor might have uncovered some details from the past, but the extent remained unknown.
âOh my God!â Felicity suddenly exclaimed.
Stella was startled. âWhat?!â
Felicity hit her forehead and said, âI forgot to block my mom! She just liked my latest tweet.â
âWhat did you post thatâs so scandalous?â
Felicity looked defeated. âDidnât you say you wanted to get Keegan drunk?
Since you canât drink any alcohol right now, Vermont and I were the ones who had to do it. So, I posted on Twitter about our 100th-day anniversary. Weâre planning a banquet, and I asked if anyone wants to join.â
Stella was left dumbfounded for a moment before saying,â Damn.â
Felicity wore a miserable expression as she admitted, âI was thinking of having more people attend so Keegan wouldnât get suspicious. I blocked my colleagues and relatives but forgot to block my mom.â
Stella attempted to process the information, âNo, but who throws a party for a 100-day anniversary? Do you think Keegan is a fool?â
âWell, considering his amnesia, he might not be that sharp now,â Felicity whispered.
Her response rendered Stella speechless.
While discussing the situation, Felicity received a text from Florence: [Whose party are you helping organize?] Felicityâs face turned dark. [Itâs my party!] She replied angrily.
After a short while, Florence sent another message, [Whoâs the other party?] Felicity instantly lightened up and responded, [Theyâre from the Snyder family.] [Hmm. The spirits tell me theyâre rather charming, but I canât tell if itâs a man or a woman.] It seemed like Florence had long figured out her daughterâs involvement with Vermont.
Felicity contemplated and asked, [Mom, what do you think of him?] [Heâs a decent person. Ask him how much the dowry should be, and Iâll prepare it for you.] Felicity was aware of her motherâs keen interest in finding a son-in-law.
[Let me observe him a bit more. I might not necessarily engage him.] She replied.
Florence wholeheartedly agreed with her daughterâs decision and said, [Find someone extremely fertile.]
How am I supposed to know if theyâre fertile?!â thought Felicity.
