Chapter 1912
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Aldor helplessly said, âI wasnât joking. Donât you know how Mrs. Kane is? She would never allow anyone to mistreat her at anytime, let alone when sheâs pregnant now. Why would you even do that to her? Do you want something to happen to the baby?â
âI didnâtâ¦â
Keegan felt helpless too and took a while before he said,â Help me figure out how to cheer her up.â
Aldor was straightforward with it. âJust tell her that youâve recovered your memory. Sheâll be very happy and forget about what happened.â
Aldorâs response left him speechless.
âApart from that.â
Aldor thought for a moment and said, âFall into the river again. Sheâll then feel sorry for you and forgive you for what you did.â
Keegan gritted his teeth. âCan you come up with a proper suggestion?â
Aldor sighed. âMr. Kane, I graduated with a degree in science and engineering, yet youâre asking me for relationship advice. Honestly, this is beyond my capabilities.â
âI wonder what wicked sins I have committed in my past life that I have to appease the heiress of the Kane family and also help the heir. Iâm not paid enough for this!â Aldor thought to himself.
âJust pretend to be drunk.â
Aldor softly continued, âMrs. Kane always treats you better when youâre drunk.â
Keegan paused and ended the call the next second.
Aldor was shocked.
âIs he not even going to thank me?â After hanging up, he turned around and saw that Aurora had emptied the magazine again. However, she finally hit one balloon this time.
The stall owner continued to butter her up. âI told you that you can do this. Youâll get better after playing for a few more rounds. As long as you can shoot twenty balloons consecutively, you can pick any prize from the top row.â
Aurora took out her wallet and bought another magazine of bullets.
Aldor looked at the time and thought to himself, âWith her skills, weâll probably leave this place when the sun comes up. n He then walked forward and took the airsoft gun from Auroraâs hand.
Aurora frowned. âWhat are you doing?â
Aldor held the gun up and said indifferently, âGo pick your prize.â
Aurora was in disbelief. âYouâre bragging too much. Can you really hit twenty balloons in a row?â
Aldor chuckled. âWhat if I can?â
Aurora did not believe him at all, and she said, âIâll take the blame for calling off our engagement.â
âYou said it yourself. Donât drag me into this.â
Aurora glared at him. âLetâs see if you can walk the talk.â
Aldor chuckled again and stopped speaking.
Then, Aurora witnessed how Aldor hit every balloon with every shot he fired.
The entire wall of balloons was shot into the shape of a heart by Aldor.
The stall owner exclaimed, âYoung man, youâre unbelievably good. Why didnât you play earlier?â
Aldor put down the gun and teased Aurora, âI have to let the lady have fun first.â
Auroraâs heart pounded, as she clenched her fists and looked away.
The stall owner had earned enough money from them, so he was still delighted although Aldor had won the prize. âGo on, pick your prize. Iâll get it for you,â he said.
Auroraâs heart was still racing when she heard Aldor say by her ear, âLady, please pick one.â
Aurora instinctively stepped back, covered her ears, and glowered at him. âDonât get so close to me.â
Aldor backed off but still spoke in a gentle tone. âHurry up and pick one. The people working for Mrs.
Kane Sr. are still watching us.â
Aurora pouted, looked at the top row, and finally picked a plush rabbit.
When Stella came back down from upstairs, Keegan was nowhere to be found.
âThis scumbag is not having a âgood timeâ with Jaylene, is he?â Stella thought to herself.
She walked around the house and suddenly heard some noise in the kitchen.
She paused for a moment and walked over.
She saw the fridge wide open, and there was a figure sneakily standing in front of it. She tilted her head slightly and noticed Keegan looking at the bottle of wine she found with a deep and troubled expression. It was as if he was in some kind of dilemma.
Just as Stella was about to speak, Keegan suddenly opened the bottle and began downing it.
