Chapter 20
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Everyone looked at him. Keegan only managed to stop coughing after a long time. He looked unhappy.
No one dared to speak. They thought Keegan was unsatisfied with the statement made just now.
Keegan turned his head and softly said something to Aldor with a gloomy face. He then turned back and coldly said, âGo on.â
Everyone was relieved. Aldor then quietly left the conference room.
In the lobby downstairs, Stella was sitting on the couch listlessly going through the magazine on the table. Someone hurriedly approached her from behind, and Aldorâs voice could then be heard. âMrs.
Kane, why didnât you give me a call before you came?â
The receptionist who led the way was so shocked that his pupils dilated!
âSheâs really the wife of Mr. Kane! Why did Mr. Kane say that he didnât know her?! No. None of these matters. The problem is that I took those kinds of pictures of Mrs. Kane just now!â
His face turned ashen. He suddenly felt like all the top five hundred companies would no longer hire him.â What kind of game were they playing?â
Stella put down the magazine. âI called you. But it looks like you were very busy, and you didnât hear my phone call.â
Obviously, Aldor knew that Stella had called him. But Keegan ordered him not to pick up her call. So, he could only ignore it.
Aldor acted as if he could not tell that Stella was being sarcastic. He then said, âIâm so sorry. I was in a meeting just now. My phone was in my office. This is on me for not communicating properly with the receptionist of the secretaryâs office before I left. Heâs a newly hired employee. So, itâs inevitable that he missed something. Sorry for the trouble, Mrs. Kane. Please follow me.â
âHe explained so flawlessly. I wouldâve believed him if I didnât hear Keegan say that he didnât know me.
âTheyâre both terrible people!â
Just when they got off the elevator, Aldor asked, âMrs. Kane, why did you come to the office?â
Stella lifted up the bag she was holding, âI have something that I need Keegan to help me to pass to his mother.â
Aldor said, âIs that it?â
She did not have anything else that she wanted to give him. But she still wanted to divorce Keegan.
And she had to tell him that personally. So, she said, âI still have something that I want to discuss with Keegan.
But Aldor said, âMr. Kane still hasnât had his breakfast.â
Stella was confused.
âWhat does this have to do with that?â
Aldor saw the confusion in her eyes. He then said, âMr. Kane would be in a bad mood if he doesnât have his breakfast. So, things wouldnât go well if you discuss something with him now.â
Stella was speechless.
âIâve heard of people waking up on the wrong side of the bed. But, Iâve never heard of someone being in a bad mood if they donât have their breakfast. Whatâs wrong with him?
âIs there nothing to eat in your company cafeteria?â
âMr. Kane is quite picky. He doesnât eat in the company cafeterÃaâ
Stella believed that.
âKeeganâs known for being a bicky eater. He doesnât like it if the food is too oily, too salty, too saucy, too sour, or too spicy. He wonât eat the grilled eggplant if he notices thereâs a tiny bit of the eggplantâs skin.
He wonât eat the vegetables if they arenât cooked just right. Heâll get diarrhea if he eats leftover food.
And, although he doesnât like parsley, heâll request the chef to add parsley to the noodle soup. But, heâll then pick out all the parsley âSometimes, I canât help but complain about him. Luckily, he was born into a rich family. If he was born into an average family, I guess heâd be beaten to death before he could grow up!
As she thought that, Stella said, âThere are a few highâend eateries downstairs, right? Go and buy some food for him from those restaurants.â
Aldor smiled, âMr. Kane doesnât like to eat that kind of food. He likes to eat homeâcooked meals. For example, the lunchbox that he brought in the past. He liked it a lot.â
