Chapter 226
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Keeganâs fever was high. Even a simple movement like that had already exhausted him so much that he was panting hard and spewing hot breath.
âHeâs sick as hell, yet heâs still acting so insolent.â Stella wanted to laugh. But, she was certain that if she did that, Keegan would strangle her even if he did not skin her alive.
âWhy bother being angry with a patient?â Thinking of this, she sighed and spoke softly. âIâm sorry, Mr.
Kane. Please donât be angry. You have a high fever, and you refuse to take medicine or go to the hospital. Iâm just worried about your health.â
âQuit trying to fool me. If you were worried about me, why didnât you come home for two days? I bet you wish that I would have brain damage so you could take your share of my wealth and leave. Stella, there is no woman in this world who is better at lying than you!â
said, âYou bastard. Not only did you call me selfish, but you also called me a liar?! If you werenât sick, I would have kicked you off the bed by now!â After cursing silently, Stella coaxed him and âTE you had brain damage from the fever and I filed for divorce, the judge wouldnât rule in my favor. When we registered our marriage, didnât we make a vow that till death do us part? So, I wonât file a divorce as soon as you fall ill.â
However, just when Keegan had calmed down a little, Stella added, âIf that happens, Iâll at least have to wait for another two or three years. If you really canât recover, then Iâll think of filing for divorce.â
Keegan could not breathe properly due to his rage. It had almost killed him.
He pinched her face and said through his gritted teeth, âDonât even think about it! You just donât want me to have a good life!â
âWas he telling me not to think about the divorce or not to think about taking his money? Never mind.â
Stella did not bother about it, thinking that Keegan must have gone delirious. After all, Keegan would never say these words when he was sane.
Keegan started coughing again after yelling at Stella.
Stella reached out to pat his back and softly said, âOf course I want you to get better. Take your medicine and rest well. If youâre healthy, you can earn more money. And, if you make more money, you can give me more when we get divorced. So, I definitely want you to get better.â
Keegan coughed and lay down on her, as he muttered, âMoney is all you care about.â
Stella did not want to argue with a man who was in a delirium state. She replied, âYeah, right. I only married you for your money.â
Keegan glared at her and weakly said, âI knew it!â
Stella took out the thermometer from his armpit and checked it under the light. It was 38.6 degrees, which was higher than Aldorâs reading, but not too high.
She grabbed a bag of medicine from the table, took out an anti-inflammatory pill, then shoved it into Keeganâs mouth. Its taste was so bitter that his face scrunched up. Before he was about to burst out in anger again, Stella quickly shoved another piece of dried fruit in his mouth.
âMr. Kane, Aldor is still downstairs. Heâll make fun of you if he finds out that youâre afraid of taking medicine like a child.â
Keegan glared at her, but he did not look intimidating. After he had finally managed to swallow everything, he warned her through his gritted teeth, âIâll settle the score with you once I recover!â
âYou can do whatever you want when you recover.
Keegan began to feel drowsy, and he struggled to keep his eyes open. His upper body was on top of Stellaâs, which made her difficult to breathe.
When Keegan finally closed his eyes, Stella tried to push him away. But, he suddenly opened his eyes again and asked, âWhere are you going?â
Keegan could get offended easily, so Stella did not want to tell him that he was too heavy. Instead, she replied, âIâm going to the bathroom.â
Thinking that he would move, she was surprised when she heard him say, âIâm coming with you,â
Stella was speechless.
âMr. Kane, 1 want to use the toilet.â
