Chapter 31
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
The familiar shrill voice with a hint of surprise instantly stirred Stella in disgust. Stella raised her head and gave an impassive look. âItâs been a while since we last met, Miss Young.â
The store owner who came shortly after surprisingly asked, âHave you two met before?â
Bella fixed her jacket and wandered in front of Stella. She then took a seat facing her with a smirk and said, âMore than that. We are familiar with each other.â
The store owner did not perceive the deeper intent at the moment and laughed, âSo, you are acquaintances. Would the two of you like to discuss this in private?â
Bella glanced at the store owner. âWe just know each other, but not to the extent of a friendly relationship.
Bella made the store owner feel awkward by pointing out their relationship with one sentence. Stella still had a stoic expression and pushed the case over. âAccording to the storeâs rules, letâs sample the goods first.â
The store owner took the bag and started inspecting it after seeing that Bella had no objections. The end table in the private room was narrow. The distance between Stella and Bella was approximately a meter. The tense atmosphere between the two made the store owner, who was a few meters away, feel pressured.
âStella, you are quite thickâskinned. How are you not ashamed of selling things from the Kane family.â
âIâm just selling the things I donât want. Why should I feel ashamed? So, do you mean that those who scramble for things others donât want should die from shame?â Stella let out a chuckle. âWell, arenât you living just fine, Miss Young?â
Bellaâs face became clouded. However, Bella held her rage back out of concern that the store owner would overhear her. After twenty minutes, the store owner finished the inspection. The store owner confirmed the authenticity and asked for Stellaâs intended price.
âFive million.â
Once she made her statement, Bella jumped up before the store owner could evaluate the price. âFive million? Stella, are you crazy about money? The bag is probably worth two million, but you want to sell it to me for five? Do you think Iâm stupid?â
Stella remained expressionless. âIf you could buy it for two million, why buy it secondâhand? Miss Young, you know this bag is for members only, right? Only premium members with an annual consumption of more than twenty million are eligible to purchase this. Itâs a completely new bag. I have to include some of the membership fees, right?â
âMembership fee? Stella, did you use your own money to buy this bag? You squandered Keeganâs money. Youâre imposing a membership fee to cash it out now that you donât want it anymore. No wonder Keegan said that youâre stingy and insatiably greedy.â
Stella clenched her fist, and her expression turned cold. âMiss Young, the Keegan you mentioned is my husband by law. Itâs reasonable and legal for me to spend his money. Thereâs no need for you to boss me around. If you want this bag, the price is five million with no bargains. Letâs not waste each otherâs time if you canât afford to buy it. Iâm quite busy.â
âWho said I canât afford it?â Bella was seething with anger. âIâm just questioning the rationality of the price. The value of this bag is probably three million. If you sell it for five million, itâs simply⦠disrupting the market order!â
Stella let out a laugh. âIt looks like you donât understand that we are under the transaction of private goods. And, it has nothing to do with the market order. I only need to pay the valueâadded tax if this transaction is completed. Itâs not illegal or against the rules. Besides, values are just references for the buyers, yet itâs my choice for the price of the item since it belongs to me. You could call off the deal if you think itâs unreasonable.â
âWhy you-â Bellaâs face turned green with anger. She was even more furious when she saw Stella being calm and composed. She sneered after thinking about it. âStella, you increased the price on purpose and refused to sell the bag to me after realizing that I was the buyer, right?â
Stella did not speak and gave her a cold stare.
