Chapter 325
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
âHiss-â Stella frowned and slapped the back of Keeganâs hand. âOf course, it hurts! Would it hurt if I touched your wound?â The injury on Stellaâs elbow was the same as the one on Keeganâs head. It was made during the cruise. Not only did Stella hurt her elbow, but she also injured her knees.
Keegan glanced at her and said, âI thought it didnât hurt since youâre always so stubborn.â As he spoke, he took a cotton swab, dipped it in the ointment, and slowly applied it to her elbow.â A doctor specially formulated this ointment for grandma. Itâs very effective in treating bruises. You can see the difference after one use.â
âItâs that potent? Maybe we should steal it when we leave.â It was common for actors and actresses to bump into things during the filming. The bruises looked ugly, but more importantly, they hurt. âIf this ointment is so effective, I better bring it home and use it myself,â Stella thought.
The corners of Keeganâs eyes twitched. âThereâs only one of these here. The doctor is traveling around the world right now and wonât be able to return for at least a year. This medication is very precious to grandma. Last time, Aurora fell from a horse and sprained her ankle, but grandma was unwilling to let her use it, and you want to take it away?â
Keeganâs words implied that there was no way he would let Stella take it. Stella pressed her lips together and thought to herself, âThat old lady threw such a huge responsibility at me. Whatâs wrong with grabbing one of her medications?â
âI want to talk to you about something, honey.â
Keegan froze. The last time she said something like this, she asked him for a new house. He pursed his lips, stared at Stellaâs medicated knees, and coldly said, âNo thanks.â
The corner of Stellaâs mouth twitched. âYou donât even know what I was going to say!â Keegan glanced at her. âWould you even want to discuss it with me if it was something good?â Stella choked. âWhat are you on about? I only discuss good news with you, okay?â Unbothered, Keegan threw the cotton swab into the trash and began to tidy up the place. Stella followed behind him and chattered, âLook, grandmaâs 80th birthday must be huge, right? Iâd need to book the venue, decorate the place, arrange stage performances, enforce security measures, look for good catering and fine wine, and soooo much more! The price for everything is going to be a heavy amount. You know Iâm only earning peanuts, so can you give me part of the one billion dollars in advance? I wonât ask for much; 30 million is enough.
When the birthday banquet is over, Iâll pay you 10% interest. Deal? You canât even get that much returns in a year with 30 million deposits in the bank. If you invest in me, you can get 3 million interest back in a month. Itâs a good investment. Come on. Where are you going to find another deal like this?â
Stella was selling her pitch like her life depended on it. It was as though she worked for an investment company, persuading Keegan to put his money in her. However, Keegan was not someone who was easily persuaded. He looked at her and said calmly, âIâm paying for everything, and you only have to do the work? Donât you think three million dollars is a little cheap, even for you?â
Stella was a little reluctant, but thinking that the little money she had was not enough for the birthday banquet, she gave in. âHow much do you want?â
âIâm contributing financially while youâre contributing physically and mentally. Both of us should get the credit, so Iâm proposing half of the benefits you receive.â
The corner of Stellaâs mouth twitched. She turned around and left without a word.
âWhere are you going? Weâre not done yet,â Keegan quickly grabbed her wrist and said.
Stella glared at him and replied, âIâll borrow the money from someone else.â
âFucking asshole. He wants half of the benefits? Hah! In his dreams!â
âDo you even have friends who can lend you thirty million dollars?â Keegan asked calmly.
Stella hesitated. âNot really⦠Other than Felicity, there are only two college roommates who Iâm still in touch with. But, they are all from normal-income families. I donât think theyâd be able to borrow me 1 million dollars, let alone 30 millionâ¦â
Stella could not help but feel angry when she saw the cocky look on Keeganâs face.
