Chapter 341
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Keegan pursed his lips. âShe shouldâve been reflecting on herself after doing something wrong, but she went to the pub instead. Did you think this would happen to her if you spoil her so much?â
didnât Dahlia was so angry her lips trembled. âKeegan Kane! Youâd better not forget who raised you!â The policemen became very confused after listening to what they were saying. Then, one of them interrupted and asked, âWhoâs Stella Jewell?â
Dahliaâs anger coiled in her stomach. Then, she told the policemen everything that had happened yesterday before adding, âIâm sure that sheâs holding a grudge because of what happened, so she took revenge on my daughter. Aurora has never crossed anybody in her life, yet this happened to her right after that incident. Isnât it very obvious who did this?â
The policemen heard Dahliaâs words and thought what she said made sense. So, they asked, â Where is she now?â
âIâll bring you there.â
Keegan stood in their way and pursed his lips. âIâll bring her to you later. Sheâs taking care of a patient now.â
The policemen peered closely at his reaction and said, âMr. Kane, weâre just going to ask her some questions. If she had nothing to do with it, it wonât take very long. Would that be okay?â Getting impatient, Dahlia led the policemen to Arthurâs ward angrily.
Keeganâs face darkened. He went out of the ward and took a call from Aldor.
âMr. Kane, the cameras didnât capture the full face of the people who kidnapped Ms. Aurora. Also, the surveillance footage of the pub around ten oâclock was altered. The police are questioning the witnesses now, and thatâs all we know for now.â
âDo you know who altered it?â
âIâm not sure. The security on duty last night took leave and went to his hometown, so we canât reach him.â
Keegan went silent for a moment before he said, âWeâve got to find that security guard before everyone else does.â
âUnderstood, boss.â
âWould you take another bite?â Stella persuaded Arthur softly.
âLet me rest for a while first.â Arthur sighed. âI have someone else to take care of me here. You should be resting at home. Why did you get here so early in the morning?â
Stella put down the utensils. âYou messed up my body clock. I canât fall asleep after seven oâclock now.â
âHeheh,â Arthur chuckled before he asked, âYou didnât argue with Keegan last night, right?â Stella gazed downward. âWhy would I do that? I have better things to do.â
âActually, Keeganâs very kind. The caretake he hired is very attentive.â
Stella was not moved, âEverybody could do it with money.â
âItâs the thought that matters. Do you think your dad and uncles canât afford to hire a caretaker? Why didnât they do so then?â
Stella kept quiet.
âGo home early today and reconcile with Keegan. Otherwise, I wonât be able to stay here with peace of mind, and I wonât eat properly without peace of mind, and my wound will take longer to heal if I donât eat properly, and Iâll have to keep staying in the hospital if my wound wonât heal. So, you should stop being angry at him if you want me to be discharged sooner.â
Stella was speechless after listening to his roundabout logic. However, she conceded reluctantly after hearing how determined Arthur sounded. âOkay.â
The ward door was pushed open abruptly right after she said that. Dahlia stood there in a very fierce and angry manner. There were two policemen in uniform standing behind her. âThatâs her.â
Stella paused as her gaze darkened.
The policemen sized Stella up and thought that she looked very familiar before they asked, Are you Ms. Stella Jewell?â
