Chapter 360
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
Keegan obviously did not answer his question. Instead, he asked him, âWhat do âYou look like you do,â Julian answered.
you think?â
Keegan seemed like he smiled. However, he did not say anything more. Julian stared at Keeganâs computer screen. Moments later, he finally spoke.
âYouâre my brother-in-law; could you help me persuade Stella? I donât want to go to school.â
Keegan was pleased with the word âbrother-in-law.â However, he merely threw Julian a side- eye and asked calmly, âDo I look like I can control her?â
Julian was speechless.
Keegan stood up and grabbed a bottle of beer. After he cracked it open, he asked Julian, âDo you want one?â
Just as Julian was about to accept it, Keegan retracted his hand.
âI forgot. Youâre underage.â
Once again, Julian was at a loss for words.
âIâm of age, okay?â he thought.
Keegan took a sip of his beer before finally speaking again, âWhy donât you want to go to school?â
Keegan asked why he did not want to go to school and not why he did not want to study.
While there was only a two-word difference between the two sentences, they had very different meanings.
Julian pursed his lips and did not speak for a long time.
Keegan did not urge him either. Moments later, Julian finally said, âI beat someone up and injured them. They want me to pay for the medical expenses. Itâs more than a million.â
Then, he peeked at Keeganâs expression. Surprisingly, he did not see disgust or displeasure in his eyes.
Keegan even calmly asked, âYou beat them to death?â
Julian was speechless.
âOf course not! I just⦠I just injured their head, but I also got hit! His parents came to school and made a list, saying they wanted to see Ms. Cooke. They want us to pay them over a million dollars. I donât have that much moneyâ¦â
Keegan said, âYou donât want to pay them; thatâs why you donât want to attend school. Did you ever think theyâd still find Ms. Cooke even if you didnât go to school?â
Julian paled:
âIâll hide it for as long as I can. I got a job and earned money to hire a lawyer, so I wonât have to pay them as much. I just donât want Ms. Cooke to worry because of me.â
âConstantly avoiding something wonât solve the problem,â Keegan said as he shut his laptop.
He continued, âBesides, itâs not like compensation is whatever the amount they state. Get some sleep.â
After Keegan went upstairs, he saw Stella sitting on the staircase on the second floor. She sat there with outerwear over her shoulders as she hugged her knees.
When she saw Keegan, she glumly lifted her head, âWhy does he tell you everything?â
Keegan said two words to her, âCharming personality.â
Stella was speechless.
âHow shameless!â she thought.
âWhy are you just sitting there?â Keegan turned around and glanced at her.
He continued, âCome and fulfill your promise.â
Once again, Stella was speechless.
âCanât we do it another day?â
âYour credibility doesnât last longer than 24 hours,â he said.
Stella was at a loss for words, so she accepted her fate and gave Keegan a massage.
âThatâs right. Keeganâs condition to help me find out what Julianâs thinking is to give him a massage,â
she thought.
The following morning, Julian changed into new clothes after breakfast. Stella urged him to leave the house. However, Julian was unhurried. He kept on dawdling until he saw Keegan come downstairs.
Then, he immediately approached him and asked, âKeegan, can you go with me?â
Stella was confused.
Keegan glanced at Stella, âDonât you already have someone to go with you?â
âStella has a sharp tongue. If she speaks, weâll get beaten up. Donât you have a black belt in Taekwondo? If you go, at the very least, those people wonât dare to attack us.â
Keegan was speechless.
