Chapter 911
Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted
âDad/ Trevor paused. âIf it werenât for Stella looking like my mom, and if it werenât for the DNA test I took out of curiosity, we probably would never have known that sheâs still alive. The birthmark on Stellaâs back is exactly the same as I remember. This means I didnât remember wrongly; she was clearly healthy, but the medical staff told us she was a stillbirth. Even if we got the wrong baby, how could they mix up a dead baby with a live one?â
Wenham had also calmed down from the excitement of regaining his lost daughter.
âYouâre saying someone had purposefully switched out Stella?â
Trevor pursed his lips, âThe medical staff in charge of my motherâs delivery all died, migrated, or resigned and changed jobs before disappearing. Everything was handled too neatly, so itâs hard for me not to feel dubious.â
Wenham frowned, âSince Stellaâs in the Jewell family, could it have been the Jewell familyâs doing?â
Trevor shook his head.
âRainee only learned that Stella wasnât her daughter after raising her for a few years.
The baby we buried back then mustâve been her daughter.â
Rainee had contacted the hospital after she found out Stella was not her child.
However, there was no follow-up after that.
Since Rainee had already passed away, it was now impossible to know what happened back then. Regardless, after piecing these clues together, they could, at the very least, know that Rainee was not the person who switched out the child and that she was also a victim.
âIf it wasnât the Jewell family, who could it be?â
For a moment, Wenham was clueless.
Trevor tightly pursed his lips and did not speak.
âUsually, when people intentionally and secretly switch children, itâs because they want to switch the childrenâs lives. For example, they switched a child from an ordinary family to a wealthy family. Even if the wealthy family discovered the child had been switched in the future, they would already harbor feelings for the child after raising them for many years. Even if they switched back to their families, the child originally from an ordinary family would still have the upper hand. However, Stella was switched with a stillborn, so thatâs really odd. Because the person didnât do it to switch the childrenâs lives and intended to let us think the child died, they wanted to make the Saun family lose this child. If this is the case, whatâs their motive? Revenge? Itâs only revenge if we know. How could it be considered revenge if we donât know a thing? If revenge isnât their motive, itâs a conflict of interest. But whose interest could Stellaâs existence conflict?â thought Trevor.
Trevor almost immediately thought of Jaylene.
âBut this theory is clearly unreasonable. Jaylene is only a few months older than Stella, and Wenham only got acquainted with Darcie two years after my motherâs death. The timeline doesnât match,â he thought again.
He sighed, âIâll continue investigating the information on those medical staff. You should also think if you had offended anyone back then.â
Wenham nodded. Suddenly, he started to feel emotional, âIf only your mother knew your sister was still alive.â
Trevor sighed, âPerhaps sheâs been watching over Stella all this time.â
