Chapter 142
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 142:
With a sneer, he seized Lennonâs shoulder and shoved him aside.
âOut of my way! Unless you want me to tear this place apart, I suggest you donât test me!â
Without waiting for a response, he reached for Hadley, locking his fingers around her slender wrist.
The moment their skin touched, something dark flickered in his gaze. Her skin was smooth, like untouched silk beneath his grip.
âNow this is nice,â he mused. âCome along with me!â
He tightened his hold, intent on dragging her away.
âNo! No!â
Hadleyâs carefully held composure shattered at the manâs touch. âLet go of me!â
She fought against his grip with every ounce of strength she had. Codyâs head snapped toward her, his face twisting in irritation.
âYouâre just a performer, and yet you dare raise your voice at me?â
âI said, let go!â Hadleyâs voice rang out again, laced with defiance despite the tremor in it.
Their struggle intensified, and in the scuffle, Hadley lost her footing and crashed onto the floor.
Cody, his ego bruised and temper flaring, tightened his grip and started dragging her toward the door.
âIâm not letting go. Whether you like it or not, youâre coming with me today!â
âAh!â Hadley screamed in terror.
Nonetheless, he yanked her forward with brute force.
Hadley trembled uncontrollably, her voice cracking as she cried out, âLet go of me! Let go!â
The entire room stood frozen in shock.

âMr. Lewis! Do something!â
âDamn!â Lennon had not expected the situation to spiral out of control so quickly. âIâll call security right now! Hadley, just hold on!â
âWhat should we do? Should we step in?â
âBut Cody is not someone you want to cross.â
âLook at him! If we interfere, we might end up in trouble ourselves!â
Hadleyâs gasping sobs grew louder.
Her wrist had gone numb under Codyâs crushing grip, her body locked in a rigid state of fear, and her breath came in short, uneven bursts.
âLook!â
âS doesnât look good!â
âStep aside.â
Ericâs voice cut through the commotion like a bladeâcalm, precise, and brimming with authority. He didnât need to raise it. The weight of his words alone commanded attention. In the crowd, recognition sparked instantly.
âMr. Flynn?â
