Chapter 177
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 177:
âWhatâs this?â
Hadley peered inside.
Nestled within the box was a sizable diamond ring.
The diamond gleamed brilliantly in the lighting. âIs this for me?â
âYes.â
With a warm smile, Duran took the ring and carefully placed it on Hadleyâs left middle finger.
âDo you like it?â
Just then, outside the doorâ¦
âMr. Flynn, this is not your reservation. Youâre in the wrong room.â
âIs that so?â Eric pretended to be confused. âI made this booking myself. How could I get it wrong? It must be this room!â He had tracked Hadley to this very room, watching her go inside. Regardless of the circumstances, Eric was determined to enter. He needed to get Hadley out.
âPlease, Mr. Flynn, donâtâ¦â
The server was unable to stop Eric as he barged through, swinging the door open to the private room.
Immediately, Ericâs gaze fixed on Duran, who was clasping Hadleyâs hand, the sparkling diamond ring adorning her finger.
Had things really progressed to this stage? Did he just propose?
âMr. Flynn?â
Taken aback by the abrupt entry, Duran recognized the intruder. Swiftly letting go of Hadleyâs hand, Duran rose, greeting Eric with a smile. âMr. Flynn, to what do we owe this visit?â
With a chuckle, Eric stepped closer, extending his hand to Duran. âMr. Murray,â he murmured, his eyes closing momentarily in a gesture of remorse.
âApologies, it seems Iâve confused the room numbers and intruded. Sorry for the interruption,â Eric explained, his eyes drifting over Hadley, his smile carrying a trace of irony.

âAnd who might this be? Mr. Murray, wonât you make introductions?â
âApologies.â
With an awkward laugh, Duran motioned toward Hadley. âThis is Hadley Pearson. Sheâs just starting out on one of our projects, essentially a colleague. Hadley, meet Mr. Eric Flynn.â
âPleased to meet you, Mr. Flynn,â Hadley said, rising to her feet, her hands resting at her sides.
Ericâs voice carried a hint of playfulness as he pretended not to know Hadley. âA new colleague, you say? So charming, yet only just beginning? Mr. Murray, you shouldnât keep talents like her so hidden.â
At Ericâs words, Duran visibly tensed, shaking his head vigorously. âNo, no, sheâs genuinely just starting out.â
âIs that so?â
Ericâs gaze intensified, focusing on Hadley as if she were under a spotlight.
