Chapter 258
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 258:
âAnd who might this exceptional dancer be?â
Eric gave him a warning look. âNone of your business, man.â The timing wasnât right to divulge more.
âHold onâ¦â Suspicion dawned on Barrie. âIs it that girl from Galant?â Reflecting on the past, Eric had hardly shown genuine interest in anyone except for that woman recently.
Ericâs gaze sharpened. âI said, none of your business!â
Barrie grinned, realizing the truth. âAh, so it is her!â
He couldnât help but chuckle. âCome on, whatâs the harm in admitting it? Her dancing is indeed magical.â
Ericâs look turned cold. âSeems youâve been paying her quite a bit of attention.â
Could that be a hint of jealousy? IndeedâEric was not one to appreciate others admiring his interests.
Barrie quickly replied, âNo, of course not!â He swiftly steered the conversation elsewhere. âAnyway, itâs great sheâll be training with Ms. Nicolson. Thatâs a real opportunity.â
Eric was well aware of the benefits.
He wondered if Hadley truly understood that she couldnât dance at Galant indefinitely. To have a real future in dance, she needed to seize this opportunity.
She was young and inexperienced, unaware of the complexities that lay ahead. But Eric knew better, and it was his responsibility to ensure that better plans were made for her future.
After their discussion, Eric walked back into his office and was momentarily surprised to find Linda there. âLinda? What brings you here?â
âIs my presence unwelcome?â Linda asked with a smile as she stood up from her chair. âI wrapped up early today and thought Iâd swing by to pick you up. How about dinner at home with Nyla? Iâve been so caught up with work that Iâve hardly seen her. She must be missing our company.â
âIndeed, how could she not?â
Eric approached his desk, placed a folder down, powered off his computer, and organized some documents. Then he turned to Linda again. âIâm all set. Letâs head out.â

âGreat.â Linda moved closer, linking her arm with his in a relaxed manner.
Eric tensed for a moment, looking down at their joined arms.
âWhatâs up?â Linda asked, touching her face. âIs my makeup off?â
Eric diverted his eyes from her arm and shook his head. âNo, itâs fine. Letâs get going.â
After a discouraging job hunt the previous day, Hadley was back at it again.
Todayâs prospect was a dance studio.
Options were limited, so she was compelled to explore every available opportunity.
As she was on her way, her phone began to ring.
It was Eric.
âHello?â Hadley answered cautiously.
âWhatâs going on?â Eric quickly noticed. âYou sound exhausted. Are you unwell?â
Hadley didnât feel like getting into the details. âIs there something you needed?â
