Chapter 264
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 264:
âNo,â Hadley said, smiling back with a slight shake of her head. âI got my looks from my mom.â
âMake sure it stays that way,â Blanche remarked firmly. âIf you want to dance with us, your look must remain natural. No enhancements, ever.â
âUnderstood,â Hadley nodded in agreement, but then paused, struck by a sudden realization. âWait, Ms. Nicolson, could you repeat that?â Had she misheard? Was Blanche suggesting she might join her dance troupe? Hadley wondered if that was the implication.
âPerhaps Iâm getting ahead of myself,â Blanche said as she stood. âLetâs go out there. I want to see you dance.â
âOkay, Ms. Nicolson,â Hadley responded, her voice steady as she inhaled deeply.
Lacking proper dance attire, Hadley opted to perform in what she was wearing, selecting the renowned piece Frontier by Martha Graham. Despite her casual attire, her performance was flawless.
Observing with folded arms, Blanche found her admiration growing with each movement Hadley made. On top of it all, Hadley seemed vaguely familiar, like they had met before.
As the dance concluded, Hadley paused and faced Blanche respectfully. âI would appreciate any feedback you might have, Ms. Nicolson.â
Blanche didnât respond immediately. After a brief pause, she asked, âDid you once dance with Red in Blathe?â
Caught off guard, Hadleyâs eyes widened. âYes⦠How did you know?â
âIt is you, then.â Blancheâs face lit up with a smile. âI met some of Redâs people when I was touring Blathe. I remembered you. You were outperforming many of their lead dancers. However, the locals werenât too welcoming to newcomers, which limited your opportunities.â
Blanche recalled seeing Hadley perform back then. She had effortlessly outshined some of Redâs best dancers, but being a foreigner in Blathe had made her journey tougher. Being exceptional often meant facing undue hurdles.
Reflecting on those days, Hadley acknowledged her past frustrations. âIâve put that chapter behind me. Iâm here to move forward.â
âThatâs excellent,â Blanche replied, nodding in approval. âIâm glad youâre back. Stay with me, and youâll definitely find your place to shine. Reach for the stars, Hadley.â

Hadley clasped her hand over her mouth, shock widening her eyes at what she had just heard. âWhat now?â
Blanche gave a light laugh. âYou canât even muster a thank you?â
âHuh?â Hadley quickly recovered from her shock, her face turning a bright shade of red. âThank you, Ms. Nicolson! Thank you so much!â
âIndeed,â Blanche observed her for another moment, then offered a smile. âYou have a wonderful figure, howeverâ¦â She gestured toward Hadleyâs waist. âThis area is flexible, but it could be firmer. Be mindful of your diet and avoid excess.â
âYes!â Hadley responded with enthusiasm, her eyes glistening with emotion, yet she managed a smile. âUnderstood.â
Blanche then shifted her focus to Eric.
Initially, Blanche had been reluctant when her friend asked her for this favor, which even caused some reservations about Eric. But after meeting Hadley, she was glad they set up the audition and found Eric unexpectedly agreeable.
