Chapter 270
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 270:
By now, the people in line had turned their attention to the scene, their curiosity piqued as if they were watching a dramatic spectacle unfold before them.
Hadleyâs patience was running thin. âI already told youâI donât want it. Get lost and stop bothering me.â
âHadleyâ¦â
His hand stiffened midair, realizing she wasnât just irritatedâshe was genuinely angry.
Yet, he still wouldnât back down. Reaching for her hand, he attempted to press the card into her palm, his determination unwavering. âJust take it.â
âI said I donât want it!â
Hadley tried to yank her arm away, but his grip was firm, refusing to let her go.
Her frustration reached its breaking point. âLet go of me, or I swear Iâll scream for help!â
Before he could fully process her words, she had already thrown her head back and yelled, âHelp! Someone help me!â
But the bystanders had been watching closely. They saw no struggle, no aggressionâjust a man persistently offering money to a woman who clearly wanted nothing to do with it.
Hadleyâs anger flared. âYou are so damn irritating! I donât want your money, so just leave me alone!â
âHadleyâ¦â
Meanwhile, Eric was seated in his Bentley, on his way back to Silver Villas after wrapping up a social gathering.
As the car drove past Evergrand Mallâs entrance, his gaze swept over the bustling sidewalkâuntil it landed on Hadley.
Even from inside the vehicle, he could see that something was wrong. A man was bothering her, yet not a single person nearby made any effort to intervene.
âSebastian, pull over!â
âWhat?â Sebastian seemed confused but complied with the command. Eric immediately flung the door open and leaped out.

âMr. Flynn, where are youââ
âHadleyâs in trouble!â Eric shouted over his shoulder, his voice urgent.
He then weaved through the crowd with relentless speed.
Sebastian finally caught sight of what had prompted Ericâs sudden reaction. Amusement flickered across his face as he leaned back in his seat. âHuh⦠Looks like he doesnât have any trouble spotting her first anymore.â
Not long ago, Eric would grumble that Sebastian always managed to pick Hadley out of a crowd before he did. Now, it was a completely different story.
âGet your hands off her!â Ericâs voice rang out sharply.
His approach was swift and decisive. Before the man could even process what was happening, Eric had already grabbed his arm and shoved him away from Hadley without the slightest effort.
As the man stumbled back, Ericâs gaze darkened. Now that he had a clear look at him, something clicked in his mind.
It took a brief moment before recognition dawned on Ericâthis wasnât the first time he had seen this man harassing Hadley. And the last time? He had been the one to put a stop to it then, too.
