Chapter 307
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 307:
Denver played along without hesitation, tightening his grip. âEric, Hadley and I are in love. We just want you to accept that and move on.â
Eric stood frozen.
The sight of their clasped hands sent a sharp pain straight through his chest.
She had pushed him away, yet she held onto Denver like it was the most natural thing in the world.
He shut his eyes for a brief moment. The ache inside him was unbearable.
How was this happening? Why did it hurt so much?
When he looked at her again, his expression was unreadable. His stare carried a strange mix of emotions, making it impossible to tell whether he was angry or not. How had she done this?
Eric struggled to believe that while he had been chasing her, she had somehow ended up with Denver.
âHadley.â
Eric swallowed his rage, but his voice shook with barely restrained fury. âCome here to me, and Iâll pretend none of this ever happened.â He stretched out a hand, waiting for her to take it.
Hadleyâs breath hitched.
âEric!â
Before she could react, Denver stepped in, cutting off Ericâs path. He placed himself between them, standing firm against the storm brewing in Ericâs eyes. âLeave Hadley alone.â
âMove!â Eric finally snapped. âDonât think that being Marshallâs cousin means I wonât put you in your place!â
His hands shot forward, grabbing Denver by the collar.
But Denver held his ground, meeting Ericâs glare without a trace of fear. âEric, I respect you, but that doesnât give you the right to push my girlfriend around.â
They stood face-to-face, the tension between them crackling like the calm before a storm.
The atmosphere crackled with tension, thick and volatile.
Hadleyâs nerves were on edge, sensing an imminent explosion.
âLooking for trouble, are you?â Ericâs voice cut through the air. Without hesitation, he delivered a fierce punch that sent Denver tumbling to the ground.
âDenver!â Hadleyâs shout was a mix of anger and concern.
Focused entirely on their confrontation, Eric and Denver paid no heed to her cries.
Denver quickly recovered, retaliating with a strong punch aimed at Eric.
The impact made a resounding thud.
In the chaos, Hadley couldnât tell where Denverâs punch had landed, nor did she care, to be honest.
The fight escalated quickly, with both men exchanging a flurry of punches and kicks.
Hadleyâs eyes stayed locked on Denver, fear gripping her at the thought of him getting seriously hurt.
She didnât know the first thing about fighting, but it was clear he was starting to struggle.
