Chapter 325
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 325:
âStop it!â The interruption came from a commanding male voice.
The whole group looked around, startled.
Denver, Eric, Marshall, and Linda were approaching.
Danicaâs gaze quickly shifted to Eric, and she murmured under her breath, âEricâ¦â
It was uncertain if Eric heard her; his face remained stoic, his chin lifted, his eyes lowered.
Denver walked straight up to Hadley, taking her wrist firmly. Hadley stiffened momentarily, her discomfort evident, but she made no move to withdraw.
âYou allâ¦â Denverâs eyes were stern as he faced Danica and her group, his anger barely contained. âI want an apology to Hadley, now!â
Danica and her companions were stunned. âApologize to her? Why should we?â
Denverâs laughter was sharp and dismissive. âYou need to apologize because your words were offensive.â
âOffensive?â Danica was doubtful, her eyebrow arching skeptically. âI said nothing wrong. Sheâs merely an orphan with no clear reason to be here.â
A subtle pull at her sleeve drew Danicaâs attention to her friend, who was pointing at Hadley.
To Danicaâs astonishment, Denver was clasping Hadleyâs hand.
âWait! You guys are⦠together?â
âThatâs correct.â Denver moved to stand protectively in front of Hadley. âHadley is my girlfriend, and she has every right to be here tonight, more so than anyone else.â
His gaze swept over Danica and her group. âI suggest you leave now. I will not stand for anyone insulting my girlfriend.â His words struck them like a thunderclap.
The revelation that Hadley was Denverâs girlfriend shocked all but Eric, who showed no reaction.
âAre you all still here?â Denver was unmoved by their shock. âLeave now, or Iâll be forced to call security!â After all, this was his party. It wouldnât be pretty to cause a disturbance here.
âAlright, weâll go!â Danica shouted abruptly, glaring at Hadley as she led her friends away. Her friends shared her resentment.

âCan you believe her? After everything with Eric, she now moves on to Denver.â
âNyla must really favor her for some reason.â
âPoor guy, Denver doesnât see itâ¦â
Fed up with the gossip, Danica cut her friends off. âEnough, letâs just go. Seriouslyâ¦â
She stormed off, oblivious to her surroundings until someone gasped in pain. As she looked down, Danica realized with horror that she had trodden on Lindaâs foot.
âLinda?â Her complexion blanched as she stammered her apologies. âOh no, Iâm so sorry! Are you hurt?â
Linda hesitated, and just thenâ
âWhat do you think? Of course sheâs hurt!â
Eric, who stood by Linda like a watcher, fixed a seething look on Danica.
Danica recoiled in shock.
âEricâ¦â Linda whispered, giving his sleeve a small tug. âIâm really okay. It didnât hurt that much.â
