Chapter 326
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 326:
With a significant look towards Danica, Linda dismissed her curtly.
âNow, please leave.â
âThank you!â Danicaâs voice cracked, her nerves frayed.
âWait a moment!â
Ericâs command halted her. âYouâre not going anywhere yet.â
Marshall intervened with a light tap on Ericâs shoulder. âSheâs fine, Eric. Letâs not escalate this.â
Eric snorted dismissively, unwilling to drop the matter so easily; his anger remained unexpressed. Linda caught Ericâs glance and shot a cold look towards Hadley, understanding that Ericâs outrage was less about her and more an outlet for his frustrations.
Eric glanced at Hadley before addressing Danica sharply. âDenver asked you to apologize to Hadley. Were you not listening?â
Danica stood there, stunned, her mouth hanging open.
âNow!â Ericâs anger seemed to peak at that moment.
âI will apologize,â Danica muttered reluctantly.
She faced Hadley, her demeanor softened. âHadley, I apologize. I spoke without thinking earlier. Please forgive me.â
Hadleyâs discomfort was evident. This was the first occasion she witnessed Danica submitting so openly.
âItâs fine,â Hadley replied, trying to ease the tension.
Seizing her opportunity, Danica appealed to Eric. âMr. Flynn, may I go now?â
âGet lost!â Eric dismissed her with a flick of his hand, his expression tense.
Danica hastened away, her spirits crushed.
Watching the scene, Hadley reasoned that Ericâs sour mood stemmed from Lindaâs accidental injury. She recognized that, despite his effort, she didnât need him to stand up for her.

âGuysâ¦â Barrie, silent until this point, looked at his friends with a puzzled expression. âHow did Hadley end up as Denverâs girlfriend?â He pondered further. âDoesnât Eric want to try to win her back?â
Helping Hadley get into Blancheâs troupe had led Barrie to learn that the dancer they all admired from Galant was none other than Hadley herself.
Eric had exerted considerable effort to make this happen, possibly aiming to revive past affections. Yet, here was Hadley, introduced as Denverâs girlfriend.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â Ericâs response carried a sarcastic edge as he faced Barrie. âEven Marshall was in the dark. How could I, her former husband, possibly know?â
âHey,â Marshall chimed in, genuinely unaware. âI was clueless. Itâs intriguing to think about how Denverâs parents might react to this news.â
At that moment, Denver released Hadleyâs hand and motioned for everyone to gather around. âWhat are you waiting for? Come over here.â
As they gathered, Denver, appearing somewhat nervous, looked at Hadley. âIâd like everyone to meet my girlfriend, Hadley.â
