Chapter 327
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 327:
âHi, everyone.â Hadley greeted them with a shy smile, her eyes twinkling.
Eric couldnât suppress a mocking chuckle as he turned away, his thoughts darkening. A woman in love, indeed.
Denver continued, his tone light, âSince everyoneâs familiar with Hadley, weâll skip the formalities, okay?â
Hadley, still smiling, nodded in agreement.
Denver then noticed the bag Hadley was holding. âThat bag looks heavy. Why not put it down?â
âNot heavy at all. Itâs actually for you,â Hadley responded with a slight shake of her head. âI brought a gift for your birthday.â
âReally?â Denverâs expression brightened instantly. âYouâve brought a gift for my birthday?â
Hadley was torn between laughter and tears. âCould I really show up to your birthday without a gift?â
She nibbled on her lip, feeling a tad embarrassed. âItâs not anything fancy. If itâs not to your liking, maybe just quietly get rid of it.â
Reminiscent of how Eric had discarded the shirtâ¦
Denver reassured her warmly, âIâm certain Iâll appreciate whatever youâve chosen.â
His curiosity piqued, Denver asked, âWhat have you brought? May I open it now?â
Many gifts had come his way, but Hadleyâs piqued Denverâs interest the most.
âNow? Like I said, itâs nothing fancyâ¦â Hadley murmured. âJust a little something handcrafted by me.â
âHandcrafted by you?â Denverâs interest deepened. âCan you at least hint at what it is?â
âItâs a shirt,â she said.
Handing him the bag, she suggested, âWhy not take it home, open it there, and see how it fits? Donât worry if itâs not right or if you donât care for it. But if you do like it but it needs some tweaks, I can alter it.â

âI love it!â Denverâs enthusiasm was unmistakable as he grasped the bag. âIâm sure Iâll love it. Anything you madeâ¦â
His excitement was evident, feeling a thrill at the novelty.
âYou crafted this yourself, you said?â Denver was genuinely astonished. âI had no idea you had such skills.â
âYes,â Hadley responded, chuckling at his amazement.
Denverâs joy upon receiving the gift was evident, filling Hadley with even greater pleasure.
âYouâre incredible!â
âNot really,â Hadley humbly dismissed the compliment. âI picked up a bit from my grandmother; she was a wonderful seamstress.â
âThatâs quite admirable!â Denver praised.
He felt a strong urge to unwrap the gift immediately, yet he refrained, not wanting to diminish the specialness of the moment. This gift from Hadley was truly special.
He resolved to open it later when alone.
