Chapter 329
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 329:
This directive allowed Eric to alleviate some of the frustration that had been building since the previous evening.
In Ericâs view, the Clifford family had earned this outcome by raising a daughter who had shown disrespect towards Hadley. A mere apology from Danica to Hadley didnât suffice for Eric; he sought to inflict a tangible consequence.
The Clifford family received the news of their severed business ties with bewilderment.
âWhat happened? Was it Mr. Flynnâs direct decision? Did we do something to offend him?â
Their dealings with Eric had previously been smooth. The Cliffords were left in confusion.
Meanwhile, Danica was especially anxious. She knew she had recently upset Eric by stepping on Lindaâs foot. Yet, Linda had downplayed the incident, claiming it was minor. Was Eric really leveraging this to justify his corrective stance against the entire Clifford family?
Danica was in a bind and knew better than to share the full extent with her family. If she did, sheâd only end up in deeper trouble.
She needed to resolve the situation on her own.
Understanding that Ericâs anger stemmed from an incident involving Linda, Danica realized that Linda herself might be the key to smoothing things over.
Recently, Linda had been scaling down her professional commitments. She only attended to essential duties, dedicating most of her time to Ernestâs care at the hospital.
Thus, Danica made her way to the hospital to find Linda.
âAre you here to see Ernest?â
Linda, seeing Danica, naturally assumed the visit was for Ernest and offered a friendly smile. âErnest is currently resting. You can look in from the door if youâd like.â
âThatâs not why I cameâ¦â Danica hesitated, searching for the right words. âI came to ask for your help. Could you possibly speak to Mr. Flynn on my behalf?â
Linda noticed that Danica looked like she was about to cry and was taken aback. âWhatâs going on? Calm down and talk to me.â

âRemember the other day when I accidentally stepped on your foot, Linda?â Danica began with uncertainty, then delved into the troubles her family was encountering in their business.
âCould you possibly speak with Mr. Flynn? Heâs targeting our family to protect you,â Danica pleaded desperately.
Linda was surprised to hear that Eric was causing trouble for the Clifford family. Danica seemed to believe Linda was the cause, but Linda herself suspected there was more to the story.
Remaining calm, Linda responded, âI believe you might be misinterpreting the situation. Eric doesnât let personal feelings influence his business decisions. Itâs unlikely this involves you directly. Your father and brothers should look into the matter.â
âAre you sure?â Danica looked skeptical, her brow furrowed in doubt.
âAbsolutely.â Linda reassured her. âI understand Eric quite well.â
Danicaâs expression still showed concern. âSo, youâre certain itâs not because of me?â
âDefinitely not.â Linda offered comfort. âAnd itâs not solely on you to fix this. Itâs beyond your control.â
âYouâre right,â Danica replied softly, seeming to grasp the situation better.
