Chapter 337
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 337:
Blanche arched an eyebrow. A cold sneer crossed her lips as she set her phone down on the coffee table. âTake a look. See for yourself. Is this you?â
âOkay.â
Hadley hesitated before reaching for the phone. The screen displayed a photo of her in costume from last nightâs film shoot. Her stomach twisted.
âMs. Nicolson, Iâ¦â
âIs this you?â Blancheâs eyes locked onto her, cold and unyielding. Hadleyâs pulse thundered in her ears. A cold numbness spread through her limbs. There was no escaping it. The proof was right in front of them.
She clenched her jaw and nodded. âYes. Itâs me.â
âWow.â
Blanche let out a short, scornful laugh.
âUnbelievable.â Her voice dripped with disappointment. âHadley, you broke the rule!â
Blancheâs smile disappeared in an instant, replaced by a sharp, simmering anger.
âEver since I took charge of this studio, no one has dared to break our rules. Yet here you are, the first to take on outside work without permission!â
âMs. Nicolsonâ¦â Hadleyâs face lost all color, but she had to explain herself.
âI did take an outside job, but it was before I became part of the troupe. I already had a contract with that production team andâ¦â
âAnd what of it?â Blanche snapped. Hadleyâs words carried no weight. Blanche had a reputation for being strict. She never made exceptions once the rules were broken.
âYou were still working on that outside project while you were here with us, werenât you?â
Hadley parted her lips, but nothing came out. It was the truth, and there was no way to refute it.
âHow reckless!â
Blanche shut her eyes. Frustration and disappointment flickered across her face. Rules were rules. No matter how much regret weighed on her, she couldnât allow Hadley to stay.

Blanche lifted a hand, her voice sharp and unwavering. âChange out of your practice clothes and leave. Now.â
Hadleyâs head snapped up, her eyes already glistening with tears. âMs. Nicolson, Iâ¦â
âThereâs nothing more to say.â Blanche lifted a hand, silencing her. âI brought you in, but once you chose to break the rules yourself, I had no way to protect you. If I did, how could I expect to lead this troupe?â She let out a slow sigh and gave Hadley a hard look. âWhat a waste! Youâre the one throwing away your own future.â
After a pause, something unreadable flickered across her face. âBut maybe this isnât the worst outcome. With your talent, you might be better off in entertainment. Iâm sure youâll do well there.â
âNo, Ms. Nicolsonâ¦â Hadley shook her head, her voice steady. Acting had never been her dream.
âHadley, just leave.â
Blancheâs tone was final. âWith Eric backing you, youâll have no trouble finding success in the industry. Leaving this place isnât the end of the world.â
