Chapter 355
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 355:
After letting Hadley go, Ericâs expression darkened as he signaled for Phillips.
âMr. Flynn, what can I do for you?â Phillips asked, immediately noticing the storm brewing in Ericâs narrowed gaze. Ericâs tone was cold, clipped.
âHandle Wayne Walters.â
Phillips hesitated for a beat, his brow furrowing. Handle? âTo what extent, sir?â he asked carefully.
He was well aware that East Entertainment Media had been pouring money into a new show where Wayne was the producerâan investment that wasnât small.
âShut down the new show?â Phillips added carefully.
A slow, razor-sharp smirk curved on Ericâs lips.
âOh, Hadley!â
Elvinâs voice rang out, startling her. His tone was light, casualâalmost too casual. He waved her over as if nothing had happened.
âCome on,â he said with a grin. âMr. Faulkner is free now. He wants to see you.â
Hadley hesitated. âO-Okay.â
Still confused, she followed him, bracing herself for whatever was coming next.
âHadley!â
When they entered the room, another surprise awaited her. Adonis greeted her with an unusual warmth, his expression free of any irritation or tension.
âYouâre here. Sit down. Letâs talk.â

Hadley blinked. Was she imagining things? Why was Adonis being so welcoming? She lifted a hand in polite refusal.
âIâm fine standing, Mr. Faulkner. Did you need something?â
Adonis studied her for a moment, then frowned slightly.
âYou seem on edge. Is this about last night? Iâm sorry I couldnât do much to helpâ¦â
âNo, thatâs not it,â Hadley answered quickly, shaking her head. âI know you and Mr. Webster were in a difficult position.â
Adonis exhaled, relief flashing across his face.
âIâm glad you understand.â
His smile returned, though this time it carried a hint of expectation.
âActually, I wanted to ask you for a favor. Could you please put in a good word for us with Mr. Flynn?â
What?
Her mind went blank.
âWhat are you talking about?â she asked, stunned.
Adonis looked even more surprised than she was. He gave a light chuckle, as though she were joking.
âCome on, Hadley. Thatâs not fair of you. Sure, Mr. Flynn is backing you now, but donât forgetâwe were the ones who introduced you to this production.â
Hadleyâs confusion deepened. Since when was Eric backing her? And why wasnât she aware of this interesting fact?
âIâm sorryâ¦â She let out a small, helpless laugh. âYouâve got it all wrong. Mr. Flynn and I arenât⦠whatever it is you think.â
