Chapter 362
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 362:
Menâs intentions could be so difficult to read at times.
But in the end, this wasnât her problem. Blanche nodded, her voice calm and collected. âAlright, Mr. Flynn. I understand. Thank you.â
Eric offered a faint smile. âNo, thank you. Please take good care of Hadley.â
Hadley was deep into her final scene as a dance double.
After tonight, the job would be over.
Adonis was waiting for her to confirm before signing off on her next projectâthe one that would officially launch her career as an actress. Signing the contract would secure her future in the industry. But she hesitated.
The entertainment world wasnât what sheâd planned for herself. Was it really a path she should take? Did she even have the ability to succeed in it?
Then, the phone rang. It was Blanche.
âMs. Nicolson?â Hadley quickly answered the call, her voice both excited and confused. Why was Blanche calling her?
âYes.â
Blanche got straight to the point. âIâm near the film studio. Do you have time to meet?â
Hadley was taken aback. âI do! Where are you?â
âAt a nearby café,â Blanche replied.
âOkay, Iâll be there in just a moment!â
Once the call ended, Hadley hurried to the café, aware she had some time before her next scene.
When Hadley arrived, still dressed in her costume, she spotted Blanche sitting at a corner table.
Blanche raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at her lips. âPicked up a new role?â
âNo,â Hadley said quickly, shaking her head. âItâs still the same one that Iâve signed the contract for.â
âTake a seat.â Blanche gestured to the chair across from her.
âOkay, Ms. Nicolson.â Hadley pulled out the chair, sitting up straight, almost like a student awaiting a lecture.
Blanche chuckled softly. âI fired you because you took on a side job, yet here you are, still filming?â
âMs. Nicolson?â
Hadley froze, her pulse quickening.
With a nervous laugh, she quickly explained, âThe assistant director of this film⦠he was really kind to me, helped me out when I was in a bind. This happened before I joined the dance troupe. I broke the rules, but it wasnât intentionalâ¦â
âAlright, alright.â Blanche saw the panic creeping into Hadleyâs eyes and waved her hand dismissively. âHow much longer until you wrap up here?â
Why did Blanche want to know?
Hadley, still unsure about the reason behind the question, answered honestly but cautiously. âTonightâs the last scene.â
Blanche nodded, processing the answer before continuing, âAnd once thatâs over, do you plan on continuing with acting?â
