Chapter 379
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 379:
Seeing his parents silent, Denver chose not to press further.
They needed time to process everything.
He gently lifted the jewelry box from the table.
âMom, Dad, itâs late.â He rose from his chair. âIâm going to my room now. You both should head to bed early too. Goodnight.â
With a sigh of distress, Wilma watched her son exit the room. She then closed her eyes and massaged her temples.
âHoney, are you alright?â her husband inquired.
Wilma, rubbing her forehead, replied, âI have a headache! What do we do about this situation? I canât allow them to be together. Absolutely not!â
Monday arrived.
Before six in the evening, Eric was already stationed outside the dance troupeâs building, waiting for Hadley to finish.
Following her debut performance, Hadleyâs reputation in the dance community had skyrocketed, something even Nyla had noticed.
Nyla couldnât hide her excitement. âHadleyâs really been making a name for herself quietly!â
Hadley hadnât joined the Flynns for dinner lately, prompting Nyla to ask Eric to ensure she would return. They had initially planned for the weekend, but with Hadleyâs packed schedule, their meeting had been pushed to Monday night.
Eric had been waiting for about ten minutes when he finally saw Hadley emerge, bag in hand.

He quickly got out of the car to open the door for her. However, just before Hadley could reach the car, another figure approached her.
It was Wilma.
She halted in front of Hadley and removed her sunglasses.
âHello, are you⦠Hadley?â
âYes,â Hadley responded with a puzzled nod. âMay I ask who you are?â
Wilma looked around briefly. âThis isnât the best place to discuss things. Would you mind joining me somewhere more private for a conversation?â
Hadley hesitated.
She wasnât sure who this woman was, but something about the request made her wary.
Seeing Hadleyâs hesitation, Wilmaâs smile faded, and she replied softly, âI am Denverâs mother.â
At that revelation, Hadley stiffened, fully aware of the significance of this encounter.
She immediately understood why Wilma might want to meet.
âMrs. Moran, hello.â
âLetâs skip the formalities,â Wilma said, raising an eyebrow. âShall we talk now?â
Hadley paused, glancing toward Eric as he approached.
Following her gaze, Wilma noticed Eric and her smile quickly vanished.
Her willingness to engage in a calm discussion evaporated.
âHadley, are you still in touch with your ex-husband? I canât understand how you manage to be so shameless.â
