Chapter 415
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 415:
Moments later, Eric appeared, driving swiftly from the garage.
âWhere did Hadley go?â
âShe just left,â Linda responded, gesturing toward the gates. âYou might catch her if you hurry.â
Eric found it odd, his mind swirling with confusion over Lindaâs sudden push for him to follow Hadley.
âWhat are you waiting for? Chase her!â Linda said urgently.
âOkay,â he responded quickly.
He accelerated, his car swiftly disappearing down the road.
During his pursuit, he spotted a taxi pulling up to Hadley.
Without hesitation, Eric parked his car and rushed out, catching Hadley by the wrist.
âHadley!â he called out.
Hadley turned, her gaze sharp and intense, and with a fierce look, she said forcefully,
âLet go!â
The shock struck Eric deeply, leaving his eyes shattered and his complexion drained of color.
It dawned on him then. Hadley must have caught snippets of his exchange with Linda!
âHadley!â
Eric massaged his temples, looking at her with a guilty expression.
âYouâve got it all wrongâ¦â

How could he even begin to explain this?
âI have no idea why Linda would say such a thingâ¦â
A soft, mocking laugh escaped Hadley.
âYou have no idea? Really? You already used me once because of her. What, are you hooked on setting me up and planning to do it again?â
âHadleyâ¦â
âMake no mistakeâit wonât happen again!â
Rejecting his attempts to explain, she scoffed coldly.
âFour years have passed. Do you think Iâm still that naive? Your manipulations wonât work on me anymore!â
âHadley, thatâs not true.â
A deep helplessness settled over Eric, as if no explanation would ever be enough.
âWhat will it take for you to trust me?â
âEnough!â
Hadley gestured sharply at his hand on her arm.
âRelease me now! Stay away for good! Thatâs when Iâll trust you.â
Eric stood frozen, meeting Hadleyâs firm stare. Eventually, he relented.
âOkay.â
With a weary sigh, he gave in and slowly loosened his grip.
Without hesitation, Hadley turned and yanked open the car door.
