Chapter 420
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 420:
âThanks so much.â
âDonât mention it. It happens to everyone.â
With a dismissive gesture, Elissa exited to make the call.
Upon contacting the front desk, the receptionist assured her,
âWe have some basic medications available. Iâll send someone up with them immediately.â
âPerfect, thanks.â
Anxious, Elissa stood by the door, keeping an eye out for the hotel staff.
Soon enough, a hotel employee arrived with the medications. As they talked, the door adjacent to Elissa and Hadleyâs swung open and Blanche appeared.
âElissa, whatâs happening?â
âMs. Nicolson,â Elissa responded, lifting the medicine packet. âItâs Hadley. Sheâs terribly unwell, possibly something she ate. Sheâs been to the bathroom repeatedly and is in severe pain now, so I secured some medication for her.â
âReally?â Blanche approached with concern. âIâll check on her.â
âThat would be great, thanks.â
Once inside, Blanche approached Hadley, who lay feeble in bed, and gently caressed her forehead.
âTry to rest after taking your medicine,â Blanche said softly. âIf thereâs no improvement, inform Elissa and have her call me immediately.â
âThank you so much, Ms. Nicolson.â

âDonât mention it.â Blanche replied as she stood to leave. âJust focus on getting better. Iâll leave you to rest now.â
With that, Blanche exited the room and returned to her own.
Tonight, Stella was sharing a room with Blanche, who had invited her to a performance that, unfortunately, coincided with a typhoon.
Blanche walked in with a look of concern, so Stella inquired, âWhatâs the matter? Is everything alright?â
Blanche confirmed, nodding, âHadleyâs not feeling well; sheâs suffering from stomach issues that seem quite bad. Iâm not sure if the medication will suffice.â The challenge was that, with the storm raging outside, getting Hadley to a hospital could become a major issue.
Stella tried to offer some reassurance. âYoung people tend to bounce back quicklyââ
Her reassurance was cut off by her phone ringing. Checking the caller ID, she chuckled before answering. âBarrie, do you know how late it is to be calling your mother?â
âSorry, sorry, my mistake.â
Barrie was on the other end of the line.
He was currently out of town and found himself needing a bit of assistance. âMom, can you look something up in the study for me? Itâsââ
Stella answered promptly, âI canât assist you right now, son. Iâm away from home. Iâm currently in Tidebourne with Blanche.â
âOh, understood. Iâll get in touch with Dad then.â
âBarrie!â Stella interjected just as he was about to end the call. âJust so youâre aware, Hadleyâs not doing wellâshe has a stomach upset. Eric should be informed, shouldnât he?â
