Chapter 424
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 424:
âWe need immediate attention!â
âGet her to the emergency room! Alert the doctor now!â
Meanwhile, Denver sat helplessly in his car, trapped in gridlocked traffic. The police had refused to let him through, and he had been making calls, trying to pull every string he could. But nothing was working.
With every passing second, his anxiety for Hadley worsened.
Since she had blocked his number, he resorted to using a new one and dialed.
The phone rang endlessly before someone finally picked up.
âHadley!â Denverâs voice was strained with worry. âAre you alright? Is the pain unbearable? Tell meâ¦â
âUmâ¦â
A womanâs unfamiliar voice came through the line.
Elissa glanced at the unknown number flashing on the screen. She hesitated for a moment before answering. âAre you a friend of Hadleyâs? She left her phone in the room.â
âWhere is she?â
âShe was rushed to the hospital.â
Elissa thought back to what Blanche had mentioned earlier. âThey took her to Tidebourne City Hospital.â
âReally?â
âGot it! Thanks!â

Before Elissa could say anything else, the call ended abruptly.
At that moment, the traffic police motioned for Denver to proceed. âYouâre clear to go!â
âAppreciate it!â
Without wasting a second, he jumped back into his car and sped off toward the hospital.
Meanwhile, Elissa lowered the phone and frowned. âWho was that?â
Come to think of it, she had no idea who the man from the helicopter was either. But in the end, it didnât really matter. They were all here for Hadley. As long as they cared for her, that was all that counted.
At the hospital.
Hadley had been transferred from the emergency room to a private observation room, where she was now receiving IV treatment.
The nurse finished adjusting the drip and turned to Eric with a reassuring smile. âSheâs stable now. Getting her here quickly was the right call. With the storm today, youâve done everything you could.â
âAlright.â Eric gave a small nod. âI appreciate it.â
âNo problem. Let us know if anything happens to her.â
âWill do.â
Standing by her bedside, Eric watched as Hadley rested. Her face looked peaceful now, a stark contrast to the anguish she had been in earlier. The tight knot in his chest slowly loosened.
âYou really had me worriedâ¦â he murmured.
