Chapter 441
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 441:
Phillips was taken aback. Werenât they always on business trips? Hadnât this been one? Eric had never shown an interest in leisure before.
âTomorrow, letâs catch a performance.â
âA performance?â Phillips repeated, his confusion growing.
âOkay,â he said, though he was clearly puzzled. âWhat are we seeing?â
âA modern dance show.â
Phillips stopped in his tracks. He should have guessed!
The following evening, Eric dressed up and left the hotel with Phillips. They were headed to the theater owned by Red Choreographyâthe same troupe that had once targeted Hadley when she was with them.
Now, Hadley had managed to reverse her fortunes.
Their tickets were scanned, and they made their way into the hall.
As the scheduled start of the performance neared, the audience quickly filled the seats.
Then, a loud, abrupt noise echoed from backstage.
âWhat was that?â
The crowd immediately fell into a state of panic, uproar spreading throughout the theater.
In the VIP section, Eric shot to his feet, having heard the disturbance.
âMr. Flynnâ¦â Phillips looked concerned. âThat sounded like a gunshot.â
Indeed, it was.

A look of alarm crossed Ericâs face. The noise had come from backstage, exactly where Hadley should be. Without hesitation, he dashed forward.
âMr. Flynn!â
Phillips was right behind him.
Within moments, the theater was thrown into chaos, with terrified patrons scrambling for the exits.
âStay calm, everyone, please stay calm!â
Security guards struggled to maintain order as pandemonium consumed the theater.
A stampede of people was underway, the panic quickly escalating.
Despite the rush of fleeing bodies, Eric fought his way against the tide.
âMr. Flynn!â Phillips caught his arm. âWhat are you doing?â
âIsnât it obvious?â Eric responded tersely, his eyes set with determination. âHadleyâs still inside!â
He attempted to move forward.
âMr. Flynn!â Phillips urgently held him back. âItâs too dangerous! You canât just charge in there without knowing whatâs going on backstage!â Chaos like this wasnât common, but it wasnât unheard of in Blathe.
âAnd?â Eric arched an eyebrow, his resolve unshaken.
He shrugged off Phillipsâs grip. âThatâs exactly why I must go!â
âMr. Flynnâ¦â
âListen carefully!â Eric interrupted sharply, laying down his plan. âStay outside and be ready to help! Iâll get Hadley out myself!â
