Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 476:
Her gaze dropped to their handsâstill clasped together. âThis⦠you, you two?â
Eric felt a wave of uncertainty wash over him, craving some kind of reassurance. Seizing the moment, he gripped Hadleyâs hand and lifted it toward Nyla.
âGrandma, Hadley and I are together now.â
He glanced at Hadley, adding, âHadley, Grandma might have a hard time believing me. Why donât you tell her?â
âHadley?â
Nylaâs skeptical gaze never wavered, her eyes fixed on Hadley.
Under the weight of both their stares, Hadley took a steadying breath, a faint smile tugging at her lips. âYes, weâre together.â
Nyla gasped, her hands flying to her mouth in pure excitement. âSeriously? Is this for real?â
âGrandma, Iâm seriousâitâs true!â Eric raised an eyebrow, pride clear on his expression. âHadley said it herself. Still donât believe it?â
âI believe it!â
Nyla nodded eagerly, her joy spilling over. âIâm just so happy! Oh my goodness, this is amazing!â
Though she still couldnât quite figure out what had happened between Hadley and Denver, Nylaâs heart instinctively leaned toward her own grandson. How could she not? The way Ericâs grin stretched from ear to earâit had to be a good sign!
Nyla clapped her hands in delight, linking arms with Hadley. âI really want to pop open a bottle of champagne to celebrate now!â
The three of them made their way down the stairs, laughter and conversation flowing easily.

Eric quickened his steps. âIâll have Kira whip up some soupâHadleyâs feeling a little dizzy from the hangover.â
Nyla paused for a moment, her expression softening before she burst into laughter.
âYouâve changed, huh? Finally starting to care about others? Hahaâ¦â It was clear nowâher grandson was serious this time.
Looking at him now, it was hard to believe how much Eric had changed. Gone was the reluctance of years ago; now, he was genuinely thoughtful when it came to Hadley.
At the door, Linda wheeled Ernest inside, their entrance met with the sounds of Nylaâs laughter echoing from within.
âNyla, whatâs got you so cheerful?â Lindaâs eyes fell on Hadley, and she couldnât help but comment, âHadleyâs here! No wonder youâre in such a good mood.â
Nyla chuckled, shaking her head, giving Hadleyâs hand a gentle pat. âActually, you arrived just in time. Iâve got some good news for youââ
âWhatâs the good news?â
âYou wonât believe itâEric and Hadley are together!â Nylaâs smile stretched wider, her happiness unmistakable. âIsnât this great news?â
Linda froze, glancing at Eric, who had just walked out of the kitchen.
Her eyes searched for confirmation, while Ernest, too, watched with a curious look, his gaze questioning.
Eric shifted uncomfortably under their stares. âWhy is everyone staring at me?â He turned to Hadley, offering a smile and a nod. âYes, itâs true. Didnât I already tell Grandma?â
âYou brat,â Nyla said as she pointed a finger at him. âSince you were the one who made the first move this time, youâd better treat Hadley right! Or Iâll hold you accountable!â
âGrandma, donât worry,â Eric promised earnestly, his eyes never leaving Hadley. âIâll take good care of her.â
