Chapter 525
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 525:
Phillips didnât push. Instead, he bent down, picking up a small box from the ground and handing it back to Elissa.
âMiss Holland, are you alright? This medicine⦠are you running a fever?â
âUh, yeah. Iâm a little under the weather,â she said lightly.
Then, with a forced smile, she quickly grabbed the box and shoved it into her already torn bag. âBut Iâll be fine. Thanks for thisâI should get going.â
Without waiting for a reply, she clutched her things and hurried off, disappearing into the snowy street.
Back in the car, Phillips turned to Eric. âMr. Flynn, Elissa didnât seem hurt at all, but she bought those supplies and even fever patches⦠Strange, donât you think?â
Eric didnât even spare him a glance. âSebastian, drive.â Sebastian didnât question it and pulled away from the curb.
But Phillips wasnât done thinking about it.
A few moments later, he glanced out the windowâthen abruptly stiffened. âWait a second⦠isnât that Elissa?â Phillips frowned. âSheâs walking in the wrong direction,â he muttered. âIf she was heading home, sheâd be taking the road to Redmarsh. But instead, sheâs going the other way.â
Ericâs eyes snapped open.
Phillips immediately fell silent, unsure. âUhâMr. Flynn, should I just⦠stop talking?â
Eric didnât even bother replying to him; he simply gave instructions.
âSebastian, follow her.â
âYes, sir.â

Phillips was now completely thrown off. Follow Elissa? Why? Why didâ¦
Eric suddenly cared?
Even Eric didnât fully understand it. He just knew that if they followed Elissa, they might really find Hadley.
As the car changed course, Eric bowed his head slightly, clenching his fists.
Unaware she was being followed, Elissa hopped on a bus, eventually stepping off near Mayfield Road.
Then, without hesitation, she made a turn and headed into Millland Road.
Phillips watched closely, brows furrowed. âMr. Flynn, what now?â
Ericâs voice was steady. Calm. Absolute. âWe go after her.â
Just then, his phone buzzed in his pocket.
It was Ernest.
âHello?â Ericâs voice was low, steadyâbut charged with something beneath the surface. âIâm at Millland Road. I think Hadleyâs somewhere here.â
The two brothers exchanged only a few curt words before the line went dead.
On the other end, Ernest set his phone down, his expression unreadable. Then, without hesitation, he wheeled himself toward the door.
âErnest, where are you going?â
Lindaâs voice rang out behind him, but he barely glanced back.
âThereâs news about Hadley. Iâm heading to Millland Road.â
Then, as if anticipating her reply, he added firmly, âJust stay here with Grandma. Quentin will come with me.â
Inside the small apartment, Hadley cradled Joy, her voice gentle and coaxing.
