Chapter 540
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 540:
âOnly by association,â Eric explained. âIâve done business with the Torres family. The point is, Robinâs a married man.â He recalled being at Robinâs wedding. Still, Eric tended to disregard those he deemed unimportant, and thus he couldnât recall what Mrs. Torres looked like.
âWhat?â Hadley was shocked. âRobin is married? Was Elissa aware of this?â
âRobin is notorious for his personal escapades,â Eric murmured with a sigh. Despite being married, his disregard for his wife and his rampant infidelity were an open secret in their circles.
Eric sighed, and then delicately asked, âDoes your friend know about Robinâs marital status? If sheâs aware and still involves herself with him, I hate to say it, but sheâs setting herself up for trouble.â
This revelation was tough for Hadley to digest initially. However, she had more pressing concerns to address at the moment. Glancing around, her eyes caught sight of a small flower bed enclosed by bricks. With swift steps, Hadley approached, seized a brick, and made her way decisively toward Elissa.
âHadley!â
Eric, taken aback, suddenly recalled an incident where Hadley had defended herself using half a brick against an assailant, which had resulted in a police case!
Without hesitating, he quickly followed after her.
Bang!
At the hotelâs threshold, Hadley swung her arm, smashing the brick against the door frame and shouted, âEnough!â The sharp sound halted everyone in their tracks.
Elissa stood still, tears welling up in her eyes. âHadleyâ¦â
Robin glanced over. âIs she with you?â

âWhy do you care?â Brandishing the bluestone brick, Hadleyâs eyes blazed as she warned, âLet her go! Now!â
She then turned to the older woman, grinning fiercely. âThink this brick is just for decoration?â
The woman recoiled, but then scoffed, âTrying to frighten me? You think I scare that easily?â
âNo joke,â Eric chimed in nonchalantly as he ascended the steps, his demeanor composed and assured.
He eyed Robin and gestured toward the older woman.
âBetter take this seriously. My wife here will actually use it,â he warned.
His wife?
Hadley, taken aback, stared at Eric. Had he forgotten they were no longer married?
Catching her gaze, Eric offered a warm smile. âNeed a hand with that brick?â
Hadley scowled slightly, turning her head. âIâve got this.â
The older woman stood stock-still.
Where on earth did these lunatics come from?
âMr. Flynn.â
Though Robin didnât know Eric well, he recognized him. His eyes shifted between Hadley and Elissa. Did Elissa know Ericâs supposed
âWife?â
Eric was not someone to provoke lightly, yet Robin found it hard to just walk away.
With a strained smile, he said, âMr. Flynn, this is a private matter. You neednât involve yourself, right?â
