Chapter 571
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 571:
Hadleyâs smile widened as she absorbed his words.
âListen, Hadley,â Eric murmured as he drew nearer, his presence almost encircling her. His breath was a whisper against her ear, his tone verging on desperate. âIâll do whatever it takes to address your concerns. Please, letâs not end things, okay?â
Hadley tilted her head, pondering his plea.
What was she expected to say in return?
She found herself amused by Ericâs apparent naivety.
âEric.â Hadley finally spoke, her tone laced with incredulity. âDo you really believe some new clothes will mend our issues?â
âAnd what more should I do?â Eric asked, his voice steady and sincere. He gave her space to speak. âJust tell me what you need. Iâm here to make it right. Please, just donât leave me.â
Hadley felt uneasy with Eric so near. She touched his chest and gently pushed him back.
âEric, itâs clear you know Lindaâs preferences. Youâve tailored an entire wardrobe to her taste, yet you seem clueless about what Iâyour own girlfriendâlike. How can I possibly stay with you after realizing this?â
Eric was taken aback, his expression frozen as he struggled to find the right words.
After a weighty silence, he said, âIâve just been around her longerâ¦â
âSure.â
âJust give me a chance,â Eric pleaded, holding her hand earnestly. âIâll get to know your preferences too, given some timeâ¦â
Hadley, however, was not swayed by his appeal. She smiled slyly, cutting through his protestations. âThereâs one way to put all this breakup talk to rest.â

âWhat would that be?â Ericâs face brightened, hope flickering in his eyes. âAnything you say!â
With a mischievous tilt of her lips, Hadley laid out her terms. âHave Linda come over and personally apologize to me.â
What?
Ericâs expression hardened, a frown forming on his face.
âWhy should she apologize?â
âIsnât it obvious?â Hadley flipped her hair back, a look of triumph in her eyes.
âFirst off, her staying at my boyfriendâs place was way out of line. Then thereâs the matter of her being in the kitchen, cooking for you. If it wasnât for her breakfast, we wouldnât be having issues right now!â
She sparked all this trouble.
âHadleyâ¦â
âHereâs the deal.â Hadley held her head high, confidence radiating from her. âShe apologizes, and weâre good.â
Eric looked at her, feeling utterly defeated.
It was impossible. Asking Linda to apologize to Hadley? Given her temperament, it was a far stretch.
âSo, you canât make it happen?â Hadley grinned, doubting he would comply. âThereâs another option, though.â
âWhat?â A spark of hope flickered in Ericâs eyes.
With a sharp exhale, Hadleyâs smirk widened. âItâs actually simpler.â She playfully tugged on his tie, looping it around her finger.
âJust promise youâll never see her alone again. Stay out of her affairs. Is that within your power?â
