Chapter 610
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 610:
The desire to settle down with someone always signaled a new chapter of maturity.
Ernestâs thoughts drifted to Linda, and he sighed gently. âJust make sure you treat Hadley right. Iâm already looking forward to celebrating your marriage.â
âHehe.â
Flushing with awkwardness, Eric teased, âHold on, youâre the older one. Shouldnât we be celebrating your wedding with Linda first?â
Him and Linda?
With a slight smile, Ernest tapped his leg. âJust you wait.â
He got up, relying on his cane. Eric moved to assist him, but Ernest dismissed the help with a gesture. âNo need. Iâve got this.â Quentin was already nearby, prepared.
Driven by curiosity, Eric inquired, âWhere are you headed, Ernest?â
Ernest let out a light sigh, his frown deepening as he looked back at Eric. âOh, Ericâ¦â
âWhat did I do now?â
Eric looked confused, hoping Ernest would elaborate.
Instead, Ernest simply shook his head and dismissed the conversation. âNever mind.â
âErnest,â Ericâs curiosity grew, along with a sense of helplessness. âYou canât just start something and not finish it. Whatâs the mystery here? What are you hiding?â
Ernest chuckled. âLetâs save it for another time. Right now, I need to visit Linda at the hospital. Why donât you go have dinner with Grandma?â
So this was about Linda.
âAlright,â Eric responded, nodding.
Yet, Eric was left with a nagging suspicion that Ernest was still hiding something from him.

What was bothering him so much that he couldnât even share it?
Throughout the night, Ericâs thoughts were preoccupied with Hadley. The following day, rather than going straight to his office, he detoured to her place.
Although he knew Hadley often visited the dance studio in the afternoons, he wanted to check on her in the morning before heading to work.
He hesitated as he picked up his phone. Was it too early? Was Hadley even awake?
Despite wanting to go up to her apartment, Hadley had been clear that it wasnât allowedâit wasnât convenient.
Amidst his indecision, he spotted Hadley exiting the gate. She was briskly walking with a bag in hand, appearing somewhat hurried.
âHadley!â
Eric quickly drove up and pulled over next to her. âWhere are you off to? Hop in; Iâll give you a lift.â
âThanks!â
Recognizing him, Hadley didnât hesitate and climbed into the car. As they drove off, Eric stole a glance at her. She looked a little tired, perhaps still groggy from sleep. He asked, âYou just got up?â
âYep.â
Hadley paused, giving a nod as she glanced in the mirror. Was her late start that noticeable?
She couldnât fall asleep until early morning, which led to her waking up late.
Unaware that the studio had temporarily stopped their performances, Melba hadnât woken Hadley, assuming her usual schedule was in place.
