Chapter 630
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 630:
âDo you think Iâm hiding someone at Lion Bay?â
Lindaâs mouth opened, but no words came out. Despite her suspicions, she hadnât found any concrete evidence of that.
Taking the silence as an opportunity, Nyla sighed. âLinda, you canât be so quick to jump to conclusions over every little thing. Relationships arenât built on constant suspicion.â
Lindaâs frustration only deepened. She couldnât explain it, couldnât prove it, but her gut told herââSomethingâs wrong. There has to be something wrong!â
Ernest hadnât expected Linda to catch onto the purchase so quickly. Quentin was usually thorough, but it seemed Lindaâs control over the Flynn familyâs internal affairs had grown more extensive than he had realized.
âLinda,â Ernest exhaled sharply, his patience wearing thin. âWhat will it take for you to trust me?â His voice was laced with exasperation.
âYou keep stirring up argumentsâbig and small. When does it stop?â
Linda stared at him, stunned by his words.
For a moment, something flickered in her gazeâhurt, maybe disappointment. And then, she said it.
âMarriage.â
Silence fell over the room.
All eyes turned to Linda, the tension palpable.
She inhaled deeply, steadying herself before locking eyes with Ernest. âErnest, you heard me. Letâs get marriedâright here, right now!â
Ernest didnât respond.

His expression tightened, brows knitting together as his gaze flickeredânot to Lindaâbut to Eric, and then to Hadley, as if searching for something he couldnât quite grasp.
âErnest!â
Lindaâs voice cracked with frustration, raw emotion bleeding into every word. âIâm asking you a question! Why are you hesitating?â She stepped forward, her breath uneven, anger and vulnerability colliding in her chest. âDo you even want to marry me?â
A bitter, humorless laugh slipped past Lindaâs lips, sharp as a blade. âWe should have been married long ago! But instead, I waited. And waited. Four long years, Ernest!â
A few beats of silence passed before Ernest let out a quiet, helpless sigh. âItâs not that I donât want to.â
Then, after a moment of contemplation, he gave a small nod. âAlright, letâs go with your decision⦠letâs get married.â
Linda froze, caught off guard by the words she had been waiting for years to hear. For a moment, she simply stared at Ernest, unsure whether to believe it. Then, her vision blurred as tears welled up and spilled over.
Without hesitation, Ernest stepped forward, reaching for her hand. His voice softened as he gently reassured her. âDonât cry⦠I only have you. No one else.â
âReally?â Linda whispered, her voice fragile, uncertain.
âYes, I swear it.â
Nyla, watching the exchange, clapped her hands together, laughing joyfully. âWonderful! Now, we finally have a good reason to celebrate!â The joy was infectiousânot just for Nyla, but for Eric as well. Later that evening, back at Silver Villas, Ericâs excitement was still impossible to hide.
Hadley observed him curiously, arms crossed as she leaned against the couch. âTheyâre getting married, and youâre this happy?â
