Chapter 632
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 632:
Hadley frowned slightly, concern flickering in her expression. âArenât you afraid Linda might come after you?â
Elissa exhaled and then grinned. âOf course, I am. But so what? I have to take the chance.â
She pursed her lips, determination flashing in her eyes. âThis is an opportunity. What if they actually like my design? It could finally get my name out there.â
Hadley considered that and nodded. âThatâs true. At the end of the day, itâs about the work. If she really decides to target you, itâs not like youâll lose anything.â
âExactly!â Elissa laughed and then leaned back in her chair with a wistful sigh. âI have to admit, thoughâLinda is incredibly lucky. The Flynn familyâthe most powerful dynasty in Srixby. And Ernestâ¦â She smirked slightly. âWell, he is quite the looker.â
Hadley arched a brow. âHmm? Youâve met him?â
âYeah, I have.â Elissa shot her a knowing look. âRemember last time? When you and Eric had that huge argument, and he stormed off to your apartment? Ernest was there too.â
Then, as if recalling the moment in vivid detail, she added with a touch of admiration, âHe even gave me a ride home. And let me tell youâheâs really handsome. Elegant. Refined. The perfect gentleman.â
Hadley made another visit to the clinicâthis time, for fertility medication.
She had arranged the appointment discreetly through Colleenâs connections.
Even now, she couldnât shake the weight of her previous failure. âDoctor, I followed all your instructions, but⦠I still didnât get pregnant.â
The doctor offered a calm, reassuring smile. âTake it easy. Stress is one of the biggest obstacles to conception. Even with medication, thereâs never a guarantee.â
âI know.â Hadley nodded, understanding the logic. But how could she not be anxious?

The doctor studied her for a moment before asking, âDo you want to continue the medication?â
âYes.â
The doctor, unaware of the deeper complexities of Hadleyâs situation, offered some gentle advice. âYouâre still young. Thereâs no need to put so much pressure on yourself. You shouldnât rely on this medication too frequently. It comes with risksâthere can be side effects.â
Hadley already knew that. Colleen had warned her as well.
But she had no other choice. She forced a small smile. âI understand. Thank you for your concernâI appreciate it.â
The doctor sighed but didnât push further, writing the prescription.
âIf you experience nausea or dizziness, make sure to get some rest.â
âI will. Thank you, doctor.â
That evening, when Eric returned to Silver Villas, Hadley was waiting for himâthis time with a bright, welcoming smile.
âYouâre back!â she purred.
Before he could respond, she moved in, slipping her arms around his waist and pressing herself close to him.
Eric took it as an invitation.
His fingers found her waist, his other hand tilting her chin up as he leaned in, his lips capturing hers in a deep, searing kiss.
The moment ignited too quickly, spiraling out of control before either of them could stop it.
But even in the heat of the moment, Eric didnât forget to ask. âAre you sure? Can we really do this?â
