Chapter 633
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 633:
Hadley met his gaze and nodded without hesitation. âYes.â And with that, they headed upstairsâ¦
That night, Hadley was different.
There was an urgency in her, a fire that hadnât been there before. She was more passionate than ever, her touch unrestrained, her body responding to him in ways that sent Eric spiraling into bliss. Yet, curiosity flickered in his eyes as he whispered, âDid something happen today?â
Hadley stretched lazily in his arms. âWhat do you mean?â she murmured, feigning innocence.
Eric let out a low chuckle, burying his face against her neck. âCome on, Hadley. Itâs been a while. You missed me, didnât you?â
Hadley closed her eyes, refusing to answer.
But Eric only tightened his hold on her, his voice dipping lower, softer. âYou donât have to say itâI already know.â
He tilted her chin, brushing his lips against her temple. âHadley, you like me a little, donât you?â
Hadley froze. What led him to that conclusion?
Yet Eric continued, utterly pleased with himself. âYou canât imagine how happy this makes me!â
After all, wasnât it commonly said that women were different from men when it came to sex? If a woman didnât like a man, she wouldnât initiate intimacy, right?
That logic made perfect sense to him. And the more he thought about it, the more convinced he became. âEarlier, you nearly devoured me!â He chuckled, his voice teasing.

Wasnât that proof enough that she liked him?
Hadley had no idea what was running through his mind. If she did, she would have immediately corrected himâwomen could initiate things even without liking a man. For instance⦠when they were desperate to conceive.
Later, in the bathroom, Hadley took the initiative again.
Ericâs gaze darkened slightly, flickering with something unspoken. Why wouldnât she just admit that she liked him?
The next morning, at breakfast, Hadley sat across from Eric, casually peeling a hard-boiled egg. She removed the yolk and pushed it toward him. She never ate egg yolks, and he had gotten used to it by now. Without hesitation, Eric took the offering and ate it.
After swallowing, he wiped his mouth and glanced at her. âYouâre off this weekend, right?â
Hadley nodded. âRight.â The dance troupe was on a short break, and weekends were usually free.
Eric leaned back slightly, lips curving into a small smirk. âThen letâs spend it together! We havenât gone out on a date in a while!â
A date?
Hadley was surprised by the seriousness in his voice. âIs there a reason for this?â
Ericâs smile held a hint of secrecy as he evaded her question. âYouâll see.â
All this secrecy?
Hadley thought for a moment, then dismissed her own birthday, which had already passed, and his, which was still ahead. After carrying feelings for him for so many years, she remembered his birthday clearly.
Could it be an anniversary?
Yet, what anniversary could there possibly be for them, given they were now separated?
